The food/carvery is typical pub fayre and does what it says on the tin. £12.95 for the carvery is about average. Meats were Beef, Turkey and Gammon/Ham. Beef was nice actually but the Turkey was somewhat dry and the gammon was quite fatty and fairly bland texture was a bit off too. Along with the obligatory Yorkshire pudding came the vegetables of which three out of the seven choices were potatoes (Roasted, Sauté and Boiled The veg itself consisted of Cabbage that had been for some inexplicable reason Sauteed with mushrooms. Carrots, Peas and Cauliflower Cheese. Cauli was tasty if somewhat undercooked (anyone remember crudités? The rest were just, well plain. It was nice however you can get a better choice and value for money elsewhere. The bar prices were a shocker .. I had 1 pint lager shandy, 1 pint of Dark fruits a Pepsi and a Tango/Fanta and it came to £18.50!!

It was a good atmosphere, but there were obviously a lot of children as they eat free which made it very loud. The food was served promptly and was average priced, but tasted lovely.

I appreciate the fact that you order your food and drinks separately, which helps avoid any confusion and speeds up the order process. The food is delicious and the restaurant is very clean.

The price we paid for lunch did not justify the quality of the meal.

Despite it being busy, we were seated right a... read more We visited Blackpool for a family day out to see the illuminations and had lunch at The Buccaneer in Coral Island. Despite it being busy, we were seated right away. We quickly ordered our food and drinks, which arrived promptly and were excellent. The best part was that children under 10 eat for free with every paying adult, so our total bill for three adults and two children was only £46. This is great value and we highly recommend dining here.
