What Fred Walker doesn't like about Nando's:
chef tried to lace the dry-as-a-bone chicken with tons of sauce and the kids veggie burger wasn't even cooked! this was 12pm midweek, there were only us and 2 couples there. shocking compared to Bury View all feedback.

I stopped in for lunch while waiting for a train and was disappointed to find the table and chairs were dirty. The restaurant could definitely use a good cleaning, including the menu. However, I must say that the salads are always delicious and filling. The sauces are difficult to pour from the bottles, and the drink selection is lacking - I had to settle for an iced tea, which I did not enjoy. Despite these shortcomings, I will still return for the salads, but next time I will be bringing my own cleaning wipes. It's a shame because the salads are so good.
I really appreciate the table alert message when our table is ready - that's a great idea. The restaurant was quite busy, but we only had to wait half an hour. The food came out quickly and was delicious, just as we would expect from Nando's. The servers were friendly and efficient.
I can not ever remember walking out of a resturant before any part of our order arrived until this evening in Nandos Blackburn. We were out celebrating our only daughters 13th bday along with a couple of her school mates, We had been 10 pin bowling next door and headed into Nandos to carry on the bday party. We were shown to a table then the waitress just walked off before any of us were seated. We hadnt been in a Nandos before and didnt really know what to expect so after about 10-15min when the waitress hadnt reappeared my wife grabbed the arm of some passing staff and enquired who was taking orders, the young man abruptly stated that we should use a mobile phone app or order at the counter near the kitchen. My wife and I do not have smart phones and are not in the habit of going out to a restaurant and ordering meals via telephone. If I wanted to order food via telephone I would of stayed at home and had it delivered. The table we were sat at was sticky, dirty and worn, which started us looking around at the rest of the place. Filthy grimey seating everywhere, worn tables, sticky floors, the self service drinks area was a disaster zone with toddlers, children and adults being allowed to help themselves. The kids were obviously loving mixing the bottled sauces with fizzy pop and salt n pepper and gleefully running around spreading their special mixtures all over. No one seemed to bothered by all this so as Nando 'virgins ' we thought maybe this is just the Nando way. So, we ordered AND paid at the counter and waited back at the sticky table for the food. And waited and waited and out of bordem waiting eavesdropped on several other customers all complain loudly about various aspects of their visit to Nandos. After 55min a waiter appeared and began to explain that there was a problem with our order in that they didnt have the ingredients to make a Salad, which had been ordered as a main meal not a side order! At this point 2 large security men entered the restaurant and began 'ushering ' one of the loudly complaining customers out of building. We explained to the waiter that enough was enough and that we were cancelling the whole order, went and got our cash back from the counter, whilest avoiding the now very loud scuffling customer with his 2 security dancing partners, and we left never to return to any Nandos ever again. Spent over an hour sat in a filthy disgusting grimey Nandos and left without eating one morsal of food... Woohoo am still a Nandos virgin... I drive for a living and have driven all over uk/europe many times and I can not ever remember having to leave a restaurant, cafe, truck stop, layby catering unit before any food arrived because the place was so grimey, ground in filth everywhere....
Nandos offer a standard product, so the difference is the service. Looking at previous reviews, all that I can offer from our experience, is that the staff are trying so hard to look after their customers and turn things around. I 'm gluten intolerant and felt so safe when the manager was called to take my order to make sure that everything was OK . Every few minutes someone to turned up to check that the food was OK and did we need anything. Thanks to everyone for their efforts.
