But hey, life is too short and precious to eat sub standar... read more I consider myself a connoisseur of the humble chip and potato cake. A right snob some may say hehehe. But hey, life is too short and precious to eat sub standard food. The owner here is the most friendliest and hard working fish and chips operator out there in Melbourne. He doesn't scrimp on quality and effort, which shows in his clean shop and wonderful food. His homemade potato cakes are simply scrumptious!! The chips were golden, crunchy, and full of fluffy potato like a good chip is meant to be. Thanks heaps mate and I'm looking forward to the day when you will be running a shop down my way champ. :

I always ring thru my order, which has worked well in 99% of times. We buy from Harry's on a Friday night and sometimes the volume of people thru the shop can be an issue.

I have not once been sick, the food is fresh and amazing, and the orders are always generous. Even my non-gluten free partner prefers to eat gluten free from Harry's. Would highly recommend the fried GF Dim Sims... so good!

I... read more Harry's has been a staple takeaway for Burwood East. A long time favourite, Harry himself seems to have stepped back in his role while friends helped him out. In the past year or so, it's gotten even better than it used to be.Chips and batter are crisp. The flavour of the fish is delicious. Prices are good. The decor's been modernised and there's even a table with chairs outside (and possibly inside too). New to the menu is the barramundi. I've tried a number of the fish and they've all been delicious. I've also tried their grill versions too and they have been cooked really nicely.Odysseus behind the counter is always friendly and polite. I highly recommend Harry's.Parking pointers: First location is in front of the shop, are a couple of 15 minutes spots. Other spots have been taken up by construction for the time being. These spots are only accessible if you are heading South down Middleborough Road.It can be easier to park in either Neil Court or Glenice Avenue, just off Eley Road, in Blackburn South.
