Island bar has a fantastic selection of cocktails offered to reasonable prices. I like the casual and cool attitude of the staff behind the bar they know that they serve good cocktails! The combination of a small dance floor and bar area on the ground floor loosens up the atmosphere. You should definitely go and check it out! View all feedback.
I went to the cocktail master class last night at island bar. What a night that turned out to be lol. The team at island bar were amazing along with Sinead from Love drinks . I tried a few new drinks and learnt quiet a bit about them. I can't wait to get my hands on a bottle of Mr black coffee liquor. . After numerous cocktail we ended up in a karaoke bar with a few other yelpers. Agen big thanks to island bar Love drinks and Dan for making it all happen
My go-to place in town for a drink! The bar has a lovely tiki theme and delicious cocktails to go with the vibe, including the Zombie (with a flaming lime on top! and the Aloha, a fruity vodka blend which is my personal favourite. The music is fantastic and always different, and there's an awesome games corner I have yet to try (a Nintendo GameCube and projector screen? Hello! the staff are always friendly and the toilets are very clean. Sometimes the wait times for a drink can be a bit long, but there is a lot of love and care put into every cocktail and the staff are always lovely even when rushed off of their feet. Sometimes parties are hosted upstairs but the staff have always done a great job of controlling the crowds to ensure nothing gets out of control. Great location, great drinks, lovely atmosphere.
I can't believe I have never reviewed this before! I have been going to the Island Bar for years, since it first opened. The staff are really great fun and they ofcourse make awesome cocktails, which is the bars main selling point. The only downside to this is that sometimes service can be a little slow as it takes time to mix up these concoctions. At the weekend and various nights during the week they have guest DJ's downstairs so the vibe an change a little depending on the music and how many fans have gone along to support their mates: Upstairs is a Tiki bar, so there is a Hawaiian theme, with appropriately themed cocktails. It's not somewhere I go every week these days, but seems to have become a place where people go for someone's Birthday or special meet up. Definitely worth a visit!
I went to a cocktail making masterclass here as part of their 10th Anniversary celebrations last night. Not only were we given the opportunity to test out our own cocktail making skills, but we were given lots of really interesting information about (and samples of) the various spirits (particularly the rum) that are used in the bar, as well as being treated to demonstrations of classic cocktails like a Daiquiri and Espresso Martini. A nice atmosphere with a nice group of people and staff in a separate room upstairs. I've been to Island Bar many times before and it is always packed, so it was nice to be able to sample some of the drinks while being able to move around! A great place to go for the start of a night out with friends, before it gets too busy. A great selection of cocktails (with a 2 for £10 offer on at the minute), and there have been many occasions I've seen where staff have made up cocktails off menu on request.
