Mi Casa Burritos - Birmingham

As you can see from the photos, Mi Casa offers bacon and egg burritos. It was the perfect choice for when a full English breakfast feels like too much, providing just enough to satisfy our hunger on the relatively short journey to London. The interior is nicely designed with a Mexican vibe, but not overwhelmingly so. The staff was friendly and welcoming, despite the early hour. There were a few breakfast options, but I wasn't in the mood for guacamole or anything fancy, so I went straight for the classic bacon and egg burrito. My partner opted for the same, because sometimes you just need a good bacon and egg meal in the morning. I'm still a bit unsure if it was a mistake to stick with the basics (or if it was just that we didn't want a big burrito along with tea and coffee), but we ended up paying around £5.10 for two. This turned out to be a much more affordable option compared to many other choices in the station (plus you could add a coffee for just £1). The burrito came wrapped in foil, allowing us to head to the platform and enjoy a warm breakfast while we waited for our train. The tortilla was warm, the scrambled eggs were perfectly cooked and not rubbery, and the bacon was just right for my taste. As a convenience food option, we were genuinely impressed! If I find myself traveling early again (or just passing through the station and feeling hungry), I would definitely return to this place. They had a good selection of fillings, and the prices seemed reasonable across the board. I would especially recommend the breakfast option for anyone wanting something fulfilling but not too heavy.

I'm feeling lukewarm about this place, despite the friendly service. First off, it's pricey. The breakfast burritos are a couple of pounds cheaper, so I'd suggest opting for those if they're still available. Secondly, the portions are small. I'll admit I'm a bit greedy, but with so many fast food burrito spots around, I definitely notice when I'm served something significantly smaller than what I'd get elsewhere. It leaves me feeling a bit shortchanged, even if it’s enough to fill me up. Lastly, let's talk about the taste. It was actually quite good; the limey rice and fresh coriander added a nice zing. The pork wasn't very flavorful, but it wasn't bad either. Next time, I'll give the breakfast burrito a shot, as I think it might offer a better value in terms of taste for the price.

This is my favorite burrito bar so far! One reason is that it offers a much calmer and more relaxed ordering atmosphere compared to other burrito places. Additionally, the owner or manager is usually on-site and takes the time to say thank you when I leave, which I really appreciate. Service is key! The food is delicious and has just the right amount of spice, and the burritos are well-wrapped. There's also a great selection of drinks, although the cactus drinks are a bit disappointing. The location is perfect for grabbing a picnic to take on the train or simply finding a peaceful spot away from the hustle and bustle of New Street Station.

Catching a train and needed a sandwich. Was looking for Subway but couldn't find and by my platform saw this burrito shop. Got a take away to eat on train. Keep it short, it's ok. I've had better from elsewhere. Was a bit messy and almost ruined my jacket. Sauce was dripping and not much taste. Salsa was watery and made burrito soggy. Not a good start of the day.

We arrived at 10:05. The people in front of us got a breakfast burrito. After serving them, they switched their signs to the lunch menu and refused to serve us breakfast. Mind you, they hadn't changed any of the food yet... Just the signs. Even when we slowly, sadly left the manager at the door didn't offer us some eggy goodness.
