What lisapleasedtomeetya doesn't like about Chase Farm Shop Cafe:
My family have been regulars at the cafe over the years and have been happy to pay the higher than most prices for breakfast as the quality and service is always good. Only now that the prices have increased by a huge amount and the quality has gone a little bit down hill we won't be going back. The prices have also shot up by significant amounts in the Farm shop too which is disappointing to see. View all feedback.
Avoid this place, me and my family visited a while back staff was rude but food was lovely, well we gave it another chance last week, On arrival greeted by a very miserable young girl on the till, staff very unapproachable if you need to ask them for anything, I wish I didn't spend my money in the place £40 for 3 small breakfasts we could see more plate than food and a sausage Bap, standard of food has dropped badly and 3 pots of teas and one jug off milk yes that's right one small jug between 3 teapots, we asked for more milk didn't think it would be a big deal but obviously it was as my mother had to go up to the counter to ask for the milk again and the abrupt manager said yes I'm bringing it now, My mother called the manager over to ask her what her problem was with us her reply as she pointed to my grandson you are filling his bottle up with that milk and she stated we seen you doing it last time you was here talk about been watched may I add it was to make him a tea out of the teapots we brought, she leant down in to my mom's face and replied very rude we are a business you need to purchase a jug of milk for a £1 never have we been told that until we pulled her on it, All the staff need to go on customer care course, doesn't hurt to smile not one member of the staff was welcoming, I emailed the shop asked them to check the CCTV as it wasn't hidden that they had issues with us and they offered me a £20 voucher to use in the shop or cafe, obviously I declined it, me and my family will not be visiting this place ever again, use to be busy but the recent visit we had lots of tables to choose from says it all, Managers reply was it's a business basically she couldn't care less about customers. Don't waste your money here definitely not child Friendly either.
Visited here twice for breakfast, while on holiday. Friendly efficient staff, well cooked high quality food. High quality Tea and coffee also. Very reasonably priced for the quality of food, tea, coffee and service. We will visit again when in the area, the next time. Thank you so much.
Used to be a favourite of ours along with the fig and olive. Last Sundays breakfast was awful! Sausages were recycled and tough/hard to cut bacon was undercooked and anemic, the poached eggs were undercooked and snotty when mentioned we were offered a refund instead of which I suggested we returned on Tuesday as we were meeting up with friends. The person who served us on Sunday humiliated us at the table saying the refund was only for part of the breakfast. I expressly declined the offer of a refund as she had started to argue with me, apparently with the support of the manager. I paid the bill explaining we and our friends would be going back to the fig and olive in future where we would be treated as valued customers!!! Unlike the fig and Olive you are expected to pay at the till and by law you should be asked how your meal is as if it was substandard you could offer what you felt it was worth, in this instance less than the cost of a breakfast at Wetherspoons no one bothered to ask if we were happy with the food they seem only interested in taking our money unlike the service you will get at the fig and olive who also have a wonderful farm shop/delicatessen, garden centre /craft shops etc all in all a much better place to spend your money in a pleasant convivial atmosphere and is less than a mile or so away on Coppice Lane.
Service as always friendly and efficient, food was cooked to order and delicious, the only issue is still no condiments on the table you have to request when they deliver the food to the table
Sadly this has gone down hill in my estimation. Not the same . Over priced for one . Jacket potato well overcooked , burnt and soggy on the outside and yellow in the middle . The waitress was lovely but The replacement came back undercooked . It’s not cheap , don’t mind paying high end if it’s edible. Not the first time we left disappointed . Shame really , this was the place to be in the early days
