Our first time in this hidden gem was phenomenal. The food (squiet and crepe salad) cherry cake dessert..was for dying, sooo good. You can say that food was made with passion and love. Claude is very friendly and takes a lot of pride on the menu and the food she presents. We were not in a 5-star restaurant in a time, and if I could give it more than 5 stars, I wouldn't hesitate. We look forward to returning to dinner... View all feedback.
What Greg T doesn't like about The French Lady:
Good food, but over priced for the portion size. Service was scatter brained. We weren't offered a beverage, soup or salad. I was hoping for better, but it just wasn't. View all feedback.
Very quiet and cozy cafe tucked in Birmingham. You notice extreme friendliness of the owner and the staff as soon as you step through the door. Cozily decorated and furnished, the tables will remind you of those nice, soft home dinners with family at the table. Now food. For the appetizer we had Vichyvoisse soup delicate potatoes, leeks, and cream pureed soup, a heavenly cloud in a cup, served cold.I ordered cheese and ham crepe and my wife ordered goat cheese and mushroom quiche. Both came with the salad. The crepe was generously stuffed and cheese and ham, with some melted cheese on top. The flavors are perfectly balanced, a definition of a savory crepe. Quiche was so light and puffy, almost souffle like, one tender bite melts in your mouth. For deserts we ordered chocolate mousse and blueberry vanilla tart. If you thought about the perfect ending to any meal, this was it. The perfect pairing for that was freshly grinded coffee with French sugar on the side. Can't recommend that place enough! Absolute gem of a place with a true French cuisine that's extremely hard to come by in Metro Detroit!Bon appétit!Viva la France!
We stopped in yesterday, excited to try this place! Such an intimate atmosphere; my attention was immediately drawn to the Camac. I love that they included it as part of the restaurant! Now on the the menu simple yet SO complex with something for everyone. We ordered the carrot bisque and the sun dried tomato quiche. They were worth the wait you can taste the LOVE and PASSION they put into the food! The ingredients are so fresh and wonderfully combined. This is definitely a sit back and relax, enjoy the atmosphere restaurant. I can 't wait to go back!
This quaint little restaurant offers the most authentic and delicious casual French cuisine. I tried the croque monsieur, quiche provence, and mixed vegetable soup, and each dish was exceptional. The cappuccino was also superior to any coffee I’ve had at other cafés. I absolutely loved the small meringues that came with the bill! I couldn't resist buying a jar of their homemade peach and cherry jam to take home, and it was fantastic. Everyone should make an effort to visit this hidden gem!
Squash soup yum! Mushroom quiche YUM!! Sausage and bean dish was hearty, filling and so good on a cold winter day.
Such a cute place! Claude is the chef and owner who mostly runs the whole place herself! She is a very cute, kind lady. We went here for lunch and got a savory crepe and quiche. The menu changes daily since Claude makes everything from scratch also based on seasonal ingredients. The food was amazing the quiche was so fluffy and soft, perhaps even better than the quiches I’ve had in Paris! The crepe was similar to the authentic crepes I’ve had in france before as well. I appreciate that the portions are filling but won’t leave you uncomfortably full. Go here if you’re looking for authentic French cuisine very cute ambience as well :
