highly recommend if you want to ram and taste Hibachi dishes. I use ramen spots like these in California. this place is one of the best ramen restaurants. they have a large selection of ramen bowls and their portion size for their fried rice was enough to feed 4-5 people (especially big). will return View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Ikko Japanese Ramen And Sushi:
The restaurant was extremely busy. There was one person bussing tables, one person taking orders and one person handling the register, online orders, and hostess. The entire staff deserves 5 stars. The food was okay. The tempura batter was too thick and the batter texture and taste was similiar to batter used in Chinese preparation for meats. The shrimp tempura was panko style and unfortunately it tasted like frozen... View all feedback.
September 8, 2023, will be my final visit to this restaurant. I frequent this place several times a week for takeout, and it consistently takes over an hour to get my food. I placed an order at 7:48 PM with a pickup time of 8:23 PM, which was then pushed back to 8:45 and 8:50 PM. By 9:00 PM, my order was still not ready, which is a recurring issue. It's frustrating that I have to carefully plan my small order just to avoid a long wait in the lobby, yet I end up waiting over an hour without any food. This is absolutely unacceptable, especially considering the lack of any apologetic response from the staff.
I felt a bit cramped due to the proximity of the tables. The soup was mediocre, the sushi was just alright, but I really enjoyed the appetizers. The highlight of the experience was definitely the service – it was prompt and very friendly. Overall, I would rate the food a 3 out of 5.
We used to come to this restaurant when it opened (like 5-6 years ago or so? because there really wasn’t that many restaurants that served ramen. Then we quit coming because it just wasn’t all that good.We were near by yesterday so we decided to give it another try.It seems like ramen got worse…Noodles were way overcooked, broth was all over the place taste wise (I had Shoyu Ramen but was the broth Tonkotsu “pork bone” or Torigara “chicken bone” or something entirely different??? , egg tasted chemical and they put pickled ginger in Shoyu Ramen!!! Only thing half way decent was Chashu. There are 2 more Ramen places opening up in Inverness/Meadowbrook area and I’m hoping those places will be pretty decent.I don’t think I’m coming back to this place anytime soon.
Decent place for ramen and sushi. I ordered vegetable ramen and an eel roll. The ramen broth was good, but the noodles were a bit soggy and the vegetables were chopped quite large, making it difficult to eat. The eel was well cooked and seasoned, but the rice missed the mark as it was overcooked. Overall, not bad, but not the best I've ever had. I wouldn't mind coming back if someone else invited me to go with them
IKKO is one of my very favorite restaurants in Birmingham. The ninja chicken poke bowl is my top choice. Food is consistently good and service is always excellent! Their boba tea is delicious, too. I’ve never tried something here that I didn’t like. Highly recommend IKKO for dine in or takeout!Food: 5/5
