I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve returned to this restaurant. Every visit has been memorable and exciting, thanks to the excellent service and even better food. I want to give a special mention to the crab cakes, which had just the right amount of breading—I couldn’t say they were all crab meat. They were incredible and surprisingly filling given how they looked. View all feedback.
What Jennie Rountree doesn't like about Bricktop's Birmingham:
We heard so many good things about this place and were disappointed. We ordered the shrimp appetizer. The breading was good, but the shrimp was really overcooked. My husband had the smoked trout with a loaded baked potato and a caesar salad. The trout and potato were good. The salad was ok, but very overpriced for the size. I had the ahi tuna steak with a side of broccolini. The tuna had no flavor and the broccolini... View all feedback.
Two senior couples out for dinner and our first time in the dining room. Carson , our server, took great care of us on food and drinks. I had the Trout and my wife had the Crab cakes both were superb and we split a delicious wedge salad. It was a noisy night with some sort of convention in town but we had a cozy corner booth. Really great food and service Bricktops rocks !
Always on point. The service was outstanding, and the food was cooked perfectly.Food: 5/5
Arrived after the main group celebrating a special family occasion. discussed reservation with the hostess, who lied and retrieved the floor manager. Same story about the reservation and request to be seated together. Floor manger was very rude, so in an attempt to maintain a happy atmosphere, quietly accepted her lies and proceeded to the table. It was after the lunch hour rush and only two table were occupied in the entire restaurant The Food was decent not exceptional, group had crab cakes, steak, chicken, etc. It is basically C level food at A level price and service. We enjoyed a quite lunch while we talked across tables. Wait staff was not attentive and as stated food was simply average. at best. After paying a substantial amount for lunch, the kitchen manager decided to come over an make snide remarks to our group. There was zero appreciation as customers and it was clear half of out group is not the target demographic for this restaurant at this location. There are better restaurants in the area that would probably appreciate the business.
Food and service were good. We ordered a ribeye and crabcakes, The price was on par with other upscale restaurants in the area, but the portions were a bit small. Biggest problem with this restaurant is that it is super super super noisy! We asked to be seated in the booth section furtherest away from the kitchen, but were told that they didn’t have enough wait staff. We were seated in a booth closest to the kitchen. We said we didn’t want that table and were invited to wait another half hour even though we had reservations. Since we were on a schedule, we decided to tough it out. The meal was good, but the noise was ridiculous. Our waiter even had to repeat herself several times, because we just couldn’t hear what she was saying and she couldn’t hear us very well. If you like having dinner in a noisy diner-style environment, then this is the place for you. However, if you want to have a nice quiet intimate dinner, which is what we were looking for, this is not the place.
We heard so many good things about this place and were disappointed. We ordered the shrimp appetizer. The breading was good, but the shrimp was really overcooked. I had the ahi tuna steak with a side of broccolini. The tuna had no flavor and the broccolini was a little tough. At first, service was good, but after we got our entrees, no one returned. We had to find another server to see about more wine. By the time she returned, we decided against more wine because we had already finished our food. The entire meal was overpriced. On a positive note, the food presentation was great.
