I con... read more I both stayed in the hotel and ate in the restaurant. First of all, I'm very thankful to the owners for offering a room for two nights in the peak season! I contacted them directly and they still had a room just a week before our arrival. Thank you! That was our only chance to visit Sotres. The room is rather small, but it has everything you may need during a stay in mountains comfortable bed, spacious closet, proper bathroom, even a TV! For hikers, nothing more is needed. The restaurant was very delicious! Starting from coffee til cachopo. And quite large portion. The hotel is located in rather nice position in Sotres, slightly on a hill, so it's not right on the street as other hotels. Long story short, I would suggest to stay in this place and I would come back!

There is room for improvement. The staff members all work very hard. They are there every morning, afternoon, and evening. However, this seems to come at a cost... read more There is room for improvement. The staff members all work very hard. They are there every morning, afternoon, and evening. However, this seems to come at a cost as not much genuine hospitality is provided. For example; during a rainy day we were sent back to our rooms. We were not allowed to read a book in the common area downstairs as this was 'closed ' after lunch, and the heating was switched off. The rooms are quite basic. Beds and pillows are stiff. There are no bedside lights, just a big bright light on the ceiling. The bathroom is on the small side. The hotel itself is noisy, no isolation, so bring earplugs. The doors are thin, and the corridors echo everything that goes on downstairs or anywhere in the building. Breakfast is good, although every day the same is offered. 2 pieces of toast with sliced tomatoes, smoked ham, cheese, and marmalade. Accompanied by tea or coffee. Location in Sotres offcourse is amazing, but this hotel/restaurant has so much potential if the staff would brighten up a little bit. Maybe some time off would work well :
