Woman owned and managed historical restaurant with excellent (multiple) choices of beef cuts at great prices. What John Elmer doesn't like about Jake's Downtown:
This steak house was solid but failed at a key point. I want my steak rare. I get it if at a cheap chain they may miss. BUT At an expensive steakhouse they should nail the way I want it! They swing and missed. It was medium rare to medium. Strike!! The Elk was good but would have been better if cooked correctly. Other things were hits. Dualing shrimp were excellent appetizers. We had a big party for dinner, the staff at Jake's Downtown was super accommodating and friendly. We will definitely be back. This spot is a must if you are visiting Billings!

We had a great time and meal celebrating the last day of school with our son. The food was delicious! Drinks were a little slow but they were also delicious. All around great meal!
It was OK, probably won't return, price was a little high and the food wasn't awesome.
Always great. A solid favorite throughout the years.
