I ordered the prime rib, which came with a cup of salad, a cup of soup, and my choice of potato (tater tots, JoJo's, or fries), along with club soda and coffee. The prime rib was sizable, well-seasoned with salt, free of herbs, cooked perfectly, and had a few chunks of fat. There were some slight tendons in a couple of bites, but overall, it was very tasty, and I ended up taking half home. The salad was petite, featuring crisp iceberg lettuce, traditional grated carrots, and purple cabbage, all dressed in a rich blue cheese dressing (which I chose). You might want to request the dressing on the side. The soup of the night was a simple cabbage and bean soup, which I wasn't a fan of due to the use of pinto beans, but those who enjoy pinto beans might find it pleasant. It seemed to be made in-house. The tater tots were a delightful surprise—crispy on the outside, creamy on the inside, with a hint of garlic. I enjoyed them more than I anticipated. The tables were small, and the chairs were metal stacking chairs with cushions. Unfortunately, the restroom had a strong sewage smell from the drains, although it looked clean enough, with basic painted cinder block walls. There were gambling machines in one area that I didn't use, but the bar was fully stocked. I would definitely come back, especially if I had a craving for beef, though I would probably stop by another restroom beforehand and make sure to order the delicious blue cheese dressing on the side.
I was denied service because of a "fake ID." I'm 22 years old and have been there several times, showing the same driver's license each time. I definitely do not recommend this place, and their customer service leaves much to be desired.
Gusick’s is typically a great place to eat. I have friends from Australia, England, New Mexico, Washington, New York, Michigan, and Wisconsin who always rave about Gusick's steak. We were thrilled to see it reopen. However, the service and atmosphere were quite disappointing. While the steak was as excellent as ever, everything else left much to be desired. Given how much we spent, I felt that we weren’t treated well.
