What Filimonija Endzelīns doesn't like about Domschenke:
we were there for 1 night. the room was nicely bright and friendly. the cleanliness was also in order. Unfortunately, only 2 programs were available in tw. does not correspond to a 4-star house. the breakfast was o.k and standard. in the evening we had ordered a table in the restaurant 19 o'clock. unfortunately the service there was very bad. only after repeated demand and announcing that we would otherwise rather le... Excellent kitchen and very friendly and attentive service. Very recommended!
Domschänke is a restaurant and as a hotel a very clear recommendation! The restaurant serves freshly prepared, delicious tasting dishes. The ambience is cozy, flowering rustic. Here you can also sit on another glass of wine. The rooms of the hotel are furnished with love and taste. The style is modern and individual, but not cool. The location in the centre of Billerbeck and directly opposite the cathedral is ideal to explore the region or simply walk through the beautiful old town center in the evening. I'm a fan of the Domschenke and come back here when I'm on my way to the region.
Billerbeck is worth a trip (bike tour)....so was the title of a review about the Domschenke I created in 2015. Time goes fast....more than five years had brought us back. Now we were there, during a bike tour to Holders we had chosen the way over Billerbeck and Nottuln this time. So it was possible to return to the Domschenke at noon. The largest part of the road of Rheine leads through the Münchner cycle path, a former railway between Rheine and Coesfeld. As soon as Horstmar is over, it goes from the cycle path and via a few farms from the Baumberge to Billerbeck. Billerbeck is certainly the most beautiful place in the Baumberge, the small hills west of Münster with the Longinusturm as the highest point. On the market on the large church, the gastronomic farms are arranged side by side, but we already had a fixed target. Soon we stood in front of the good house, and in Corona times we asked the service outside, as always, if we could get a table. That was not a problem, both inside and outside we were offered tables. Inside was no option, we wanted fresh air in the shadow. Like a table under the big awning in front of the hotel. Here we arrived, it had become hot over the morning and we enjoyed this break very much. A large bottle of water was ordered and had to be added very quickly. No wine in this break, it was just too hot on our day of visit. The map is not published on the HP, but is adapted in a very fast change to the seasons and the offer. Chef Frank Groll is a guarantee of high quality kitchen. We just wanted to eat and stay with the appetizers. The main foods offered are quite extensive and quite meaty. The appetizers found more tempting offers. For me a hard and cold oyster. Creuses de Zelande, from the western neighbours. They could be ordered with 3 euros, I ordered 4 pieces. Very neat, fleshy oysters came to the table that shell water still good in half the bowl as it must. Only accompanied by lemon, butter and pumpernickel we are in Westfalen. Perfect summer! Parallel a soup for my wife. She had ordered a tomato consommee with sour beet. The plate came to the table with fried and spelt small tomatoes and the small bite. The consommee was poured onto the table and gave a wonderful smell and even better taste. My wife was very happy too. As the main courses we had chosen other appetizers from the map, which was no problem for the Domschenke. My wife ordered seafood. Roasted wildcat clones with salad from Beluga lenses had announced the map. The shrimps were completely removed from the shell, marinated and fried. To the point glassy. A delicious salad and my wife were satisfied and tanned by their choice. I had ordered marinated coal fish cucumbers goats fresh cheese Hibiscus. Again, I had never heard or read such a typical carsten order from a coalfish. I'm surprised. The fish came in two preparations, a Tatar and slices that were very gently marinated. He reminded me of halibut, but he was stronger in taste. In the meantime, I have consulted the internet, estimated a fish from the North Pacific and from the Japanese (of whom else) as a good fish. I can confirm that. The fish was good and summery accompanied by cucumbers, fresh cheese and hibiscus cream. Fine plate and the portioning of the gears left us a dessert. We wanted to share Lavender mousse and cherry ice cream. A beautiful dessert where the very good ice cream reads the mouths in the taste behind them, which would definitely need a braver lavender note. But I know about my own cooking experience that overdosed lavender aromas can go back very strongly, so that was also a good dessert. In the meantime we arrived in the water bottle 4 and an espresso and finished the food. Just like the kitchen team, the service delivered a good performance, despite Corona MuNaSchu and the heat you remained friendly and opposite and always felt a good friendliness. So I can finish. The Domschenke in Billerbeck is a very good place to return well maintained. Recommendation for the house and his cook from me.
