We ordered potato salad,... read more This restaurant is where all the locals go, inside it looks very traditional nothing fancy but you know you will get an authentic meal. We ordered potato salad, with tuna and Russian salad for our starter and were amazed at the huge portion and delicious taste. Our second course was Hake with Patatas Fritas (home made chips). It was perfectly cooked and so filling. We had a small bottle of wine with this. We didn’t realise the price included a dessert so when the lady offered it we said no. But anyway when we got the bill we couldn’t believe how cheap it was for all that food!

Nothing has changed... read more I've lived here for 30 years and this place was one of my favourites from the very first day I arrived in what was once a very gloomy city. Nothing has changed much, Prices have increased obviously but still remarkable value. Staff are fantastic and the food, nothing fancy, but simple home-cooked Basque dishes. Unbeatable value for money , five minutes walk from the Guggenheim. A must visit.

Not fancy, not aimed at tourists but wholesome three course meal from a good choice. Under 10€ including a bottle of local wine at time of writing. The manager gives leaflets outside the Guggenheim around lunch time and even May escort you one block to the door. If you are on a budget and are hungry it will fill you. Very local atmosphere. Charming helpful manager and head chef!
