It was only 9p... read more This was the only place on the square that had space and I know why now. Food was tasteless and greasy and one of our dishes didn't even turn up. It was only 9pm and they were packing away all the tables and chairs around us clearly wanting to close. We didn't need any more prompting to leave, it was a pretty unpleasant experience.

Bar servers friendly. A WAITER was the worst ever we've encountered in Bilbao and even in Spain (We've been in Spain a dozen times. !!! Does he even like what he's doing? Told us we cannot bring our drinks beyond the tables outside. Told us to stay at the tables around the taberna. So we moved to a wall-mounted table outside the bar. So even the bar stools inside the taberna, we can't move a few feet outside the store. Being tourists, he could've said it in a better way. He doesn't deserve to be working in this service industry where patience is needed for tourists like us who are unable to speak their language. To top it all off, he even blew my cousin a sarcastic kiss. We could've stooped down to his level but decided we are more civilised than that. The other 4 bars we came from before this we're great. We felt the warmth and hospitality until this bar. Many Spanish are friendly and nice but I guess there are a still a few rotten apples!!!
