I run a youth organization in the area that can only pay other organizations by check. To thank our dedicated volunteers, we contacted local businesses to see who would accept checks in exchange for gift cards, so we could provide our volunteers with a list of options. After communicating with the manager of the Biglerville Subway, who was very courteous and professional, the owner, Gina, agreed to the arrangement but needed to be present to approve the transaction, which was perfectly understandable. Despite several attempts to meet her while I was nearby, I couldn’t connect with Gina. Repeated calls to the store failed to reveal when she would be available. Eventually, I arranged for another volunteer to visit Subway when Gina was supposed to be there. When I called to confirm, I was met with hostility; Gina was too busy to talk, though it was confirmed she would be there until 3 pm. Even so, the volunteer went to pick up the Subway gift card before 3 pm, arriving at 2:30, only to find Gina absent and unable to authorize the check payment. I later received an unprofessional voicemail stating she could not afford to give “handouts” to anyone. I was not seeking any handouts, just trying to complete a legitimate transaction as a customer. This process took weeks with extensive communication between Gina, her staff, and me. While I can understand if she forgot the calls and messages, her hostile assumptions were unwarranted. Needless to say, the Biglerville Subway will no longer receive business from me, either personally or professionally, and I would caution others when considering their menu options here.
This past week, we placed two large orders, and Gina did an excellent job. Our orders were ready on time, very well organized, and exactly as we requested. Fantastic work!
I visited Subway yesterday, but my experience was spoiled by an employee named Cole, who was yelling at a coworker and using offensive language in the kitchen. Additionally, the restaurant had a strong smell of cigarette smoke and low-quality marijuana. My son, who has asthma, suffered an asthma attack while we were ordering due to excessive cologne being sprayed to mask the unpleasant odors.
My son celebrated his birthday on Wednesday, and we decided to pick up some subs for a picnic at the park. I placed my order online, but when I realized there was no option for customization, I opted to call the restaurant instead. The employee I spoke to was incredibly helpful; she accommodated all of my requests and remained very polite throughout the conversation. She even followed up with a call to confirm that she had understood my instructions correctly. When I arrived, the team on duty was professional, and the store was immaculate. I was thoroughly impressed overall. I will certainly be returning. I understand that many restaurants are facing staffing challenges right now, but whatever management is doing at the Biglerville Subway should serve as a model for others to emulate. Those employees definitely deserve a raise!
This is the worst Subway I have ever visited. I've tried going there three times over the past year, hoping it would be a convenient option since it's near my workplace. Unfortunately, every time I've gone, it takes an incredibly long time, and the staff appears to be completely clueless. I ordered an Italian sub, and the employee didn’t even recognize what it was.
