We had an amazing time skiing at Big White! Our Christmas in April was truly magical, with over 30 inches of fresh snow falling in just a week. The terrain is fantastic, catering to everyone from beginners to world-class experts. Whether you prefer steep runs, breathtaking views, tree skiing, blue runs, or a large terrain park, there's something for everyone to enjoy. One of my favorite features is the Bubble chairlifts with heated seats, which make for a cozy ride up the mountain. Although the village is small, it’s full of charm and character. We stayed at the Huntley Lodge, which was excellent and nicely updated. Can't wait to come back soon!
The resort is massive! You’ll need several days to explore the entire area, as there’s a wide variety of terrain and the lift system is excellent, along with a very helpful staff. The mountain itself is stunning, and it's definitely worth going up on a sunny day! However, the base conditions this year aren't great; since it's already March, I've hit some rocks a few times while skiing on what seemed like untouched powder. On the plus side, it's very easy to locate, and if you park further from the main square, there are plenty of parking options and shuttle services available.
The demo shop was impressive, with friendly and knowledgeable staff. The ski valet attendants were also welcoming and attentive. Skiing was amazing, and the lift staff were great! However, the bell staff did not offer assistance with our bags upon our arrival, and we were not positioned on the ramp for easier handling. Additionally, the check-in staff had an attitude that wasn’t very helpful, and problems went unresolved, especially for first-time visitors. There was quite a bit of noise from the rooms above us, as the walls and ceilings didn't seem to dampen sound well. We encountered some confusion and miscommunication at the ski rental shop when returning equipment. While the ski instructors were excellent, it would have been more beneficial for us if we were actively offered help or informed about paid lesson options. Overall, we had a great time at Big Sky and would recommend it, but I believe additional training in customer service skills would be beneficial.
We stayed at the lodge and had a great experience, the breakfast was delicious. First time in MT and not much snow for December, but still decent conditions. Loved her new lift, so comfortable and easy to get up and down. Beautiful hot tubs in the lodge, but you are limited to the hot tubs in any building where you live.
Big Sky is my home mountain love riding there. The variety of runs and different levels of skiing will make sure everyone has a great time. The food and drinks are on point as well, and hanging out in the lodge is always fun. If you want to stay in Big Sky there are all sorts of accommodations. Can't wait for the next amazing season here!
