I spent a delightful time at Christopher Manor and explored the National Wildlife Refuge nearby. It was a step into the past. It is a wonderful location for exploring!
This place is great. It has excellent food the atmosphere is perfect if you enjoy friendly, hands on owners who make you feel like family. This is a B B that is open for dinner service on Fri and Sat evenings. This is the owner's family home and the historical touches are detailed and amazing. Call in advance for reservations. The menu is online as it is a set menu each night (they are very accommodating of substitutions).

I took my daughter and grandson and a family friend. All walked away extremely content. The Atmosphere is casual and fun, and the owner took the time to share the story of how her family came to own the cabin the restaurant is located in and a bit of the history of the place and area. The Food was to die for. The menu is set though I was told it changes weekly, and consisted of homemade breads, fresh salads, a meat and three, and an incredible selection of deserts. Everything tasted homemade and had the feel of going home to grand moms. Well worth the drive to get there!
Old 23rd is like taking a step back in time to a place where you feel like you are the favorite nephew or niece and everyone is trying to make you feel special. It starts with the Armadillo Eggs for appetizers which are like a party going on in your mouth with meat covered jalapeños filled with cheesy goodness. Being from Erin, we were delighted to taste the perfectly roasted corned beef with freshly cooked cabbage, both with just the right texture. Of course, the green beans were authentically Southern. We took our time with the dessert of real-deal banana pudding, not the bright yellow imposter kind you see at church suppers, and fresh apple crisp with ice cream to enjoy Blake's sweet music. That kid is tremendously talented. Thank you Linda for the beautiful evening. The trip on the ferry from Erin and back around through Dover after ferry hours was totally worth it.
