Rustic atmosphere with an appealing menu, good value for money, very good service. Reservations recommended as it's popular.
The service was quick and friendly.
I'm from Cologne, so I'm not there regularly. But I've been there twice already, and I'll definitely be back on my next visit in May 2026. It's beautifully decorated, especially at the bar and especially on the first floor. Super cozy. The staff is always extremely friendly and quick. They're happy to help if you're undecided. The food (so far, a superb burger and a special pasta dish) has been absolutely top-notch. Definitely worth a visit. Reservations are recommended on weekends. I'm looking forward to the next time.

After our visit to Café Möpken, I have to say I found the way (new) guests were treated quite appalling. After calling ahead to inquire whether a table for two was available around 5:30 pm, I was told, We can manage that. There are plenty of free tables. Arriving 20 minutes later, I found almost all the tables outside to be empty, yet we were assigned a small, rickety table in the furthest corner. I repeatedly asked if we could have one of the other tables and explained that we only wanted to grab a quick bite. The waitress responded to my request with utter rudeness and showed no interest in accommodating us in any way. After standing somewhat aimlessly in front of the empty tables for a minute, a man (apparently the owner) approached us and declared in a very unfriendly tone that we should either take the table assigned to us or the table by the entrance! We then took the table by the entrance. The food itself was ultimately acceptable. When we went to pay and I pointed out our Citti for Two voucher, the waitress reacted incredibly rudely and said that we should have mentioned the voucher when we made the reservation. Just so you know: I did mention it when I made the reservation by phone. Twice, the waitress, visibly annoyed, went to the owner with our explanation. He then suddenly appeared at our table and claimed that I hadn 't mentioned the voucher and that, for accounting reasons, he couldn 't change the receipt and that we should pay the full amount. Later, I learned from a friend in the restaurant industry that it happens quite often that receipts need to be changed, for example, due to accounting errors. He stuck to his story and, as some reviews here have so nicely pointed out, referred to the Citti for Two rules. I 've been using the voucher for years and have honestly never experienced anything like this. The owner 's tone was so incredibly unfriendly that even other guests shook their heads in disbelief. Anyone reading other reviews here will surely notice that citti for two users were frequently dismissed in this or a similar manner. But the owner knows how to deflect criticism from other guests with various, seemingly pleasant-sounding statements. His unfriendly manner, which he dismisses as open to interpretation, has been mentioned frequently. It 's a shame that this otherwise lovely day ended with such a bitter aftertaste of rudeness. Incidentally, there were still several tables free when we left.

My little sister and I were really fulfilled with the high quality ingredients that are actually regionally sourced, everything tasted really fresh. Great service from pleasant staff, were seated quickly. Competitive menu prices, would visit here yet again. Servers usually Waiters always keen, can always find some thing I like within the menu. The staff here are really high grade, can't praise them enough.
We've been here twice and have been thrilled every time. The selection of Westphalian specialties is rounded off by a fine tea card and delicious interpretations of fish and pasta dishes. Especially well we like the russian- chic ambience and the friendly service! We look forward to the next time.
We celebrated my birthday there on 24.08.22. An exceptionally good, attentive service, excellent prepared food, well-kept drinks. And even though the beer garden was occupied to the last place. A thank you for the wonderful evening
Had given 5 stars 3 years ago, but had to delete the review. Because the carpick has unfortunately left a little behind. The food is still very good (not superb, but very good). The vegetables to the carving were exclusively mushrooms, well. Lachs was good. The service unfortunately had an extremely bad day with us. I asked the employee (man of middle age) whether there was a bicycle stand, the answer was no. Then I asked if he knew a possibility where I could turn off the bike nearby. His answer was “No, but definitely not here in the entrance area”. To this end, an unkindness that his likeness seeks. You really wonder if gastronomic hospitality is not fun. I'm sorry. Update: I read the answer. If I find good, come back and let me convince again
Food quality was disappointing , overcooked Kalbsschnitzel, and Tiramisu didn’t taste selfmade. Wine recommendation was simply a reiteration of what the card had to offer. Otherwise fast attentive service

Great food, great service to feel good We were four with the family in the Möpken and it was a completely successful visit to rubbish cake with neat salmon (approx. 9€ , pasta with marsalasauce (approx. 11€ , Kikok chicken/season vegetables/rosmarinkartoffeln in white wine sauce (15 € and the burger with rosemary sprockets and salad everything was fantastic, fresh, The burger is really good. Personally, I haven't often eaten such a well seasoned Burger Patty. There were homemade pesto as a sauce. That was also very delicious. For my taste, the Kikok chicken was perhaps a minute too long in the pan, but that's, I think, something to taste. top service, fast friendly, not intrusive and totally unobtrusive. Simply nice both the area inside is cozy and the terrace outside. Chairs with comfortable upholstery, you don't sit too close together very good beverage selection FAZIT: All around succeeded. Time again
Delicious Westphalian cuisine, cosy ambience!
The armchairs are extremely comfortable and the distance between the tables I find especially reasonable. There you will certainly not get the feeling of eating cucumbers in the can evening.Just right to continue to taste a dessert afterwards.Here you will get both and: friendly and fast waiters.I found the bid highly sympathetic.
I also find the prices full of Fair. find the place suitable for all events irrelevant whether with friend, acquaintance or family. Certainly, my hardship comes here with my business partners and can rely on me to be served perfectly. As far as it concerns me, my husband and I, have already ordered the entire card up and down. The meal was served very hard.
Creative and very tasty food, beautiful service (also for our children), beautiful ambience.
