The Norling Cafe, located in a center that preserves and promotes Tibetan arts and crafts, unfortunately lacks a variety of Tibetan food options. When we visited on a quiet day in May, the menu offered mostly international and Indian dishes. Despite our disappointment in not being able to order dosas or momos, we decided to try the pizzas, which turned out to be surprisingly good. The service was friendly and the staff went out of their way to bring our food to our table, even though patrons are supposed to order and collect their food at the counter. Our bill for 2 lime sodas and 2 pizzas came to 540 rupees with tax. Overall, the Norling Cafe is worth a visit for its unique atmosphere and tasty dishes, despite its limited Tibetan food options.

Do not eat here, as they constantly mix up orders with other tables and show no remorse. This completely ruins the dining experience and is best avoided.

A small cafe in the Norbulingka Institute just after entering the gate. Has both open and shaded space for small snacks. However, cost of each item is unusually higher as compared to other cafes. Taste is good and service is OK. Main items are mango, banana and shakes, cold coffee etc.

This is open cafe and is on left side once you enter the institute. If offers fast food and for proper buffet and dining food there is Norling restaurent on right side. The staff of the cafe is cold and unresponsive. We sat and noone gave the menu or came to take order, they had only few items which they had wrote as today's chef special like egg dosa, potato fry momo etc. They even didn't had steamed momo so we left and visited Norling restaurent which is on other side. We ordered the veg momo costing Rs 170 as most dishes looked over-priced and we were not sure(the best decision). It took around 15-20 mins to serve Momo and till then noone even asked for water. Infact noone was present in reception where we could ask for water. They were busy with preparation of buffet and won't even listen to us. After wait of 15 mins came momo and they were so small in size and below average in taste. By now mood was not so good and we ate paid our bill of 170(including GST) and left for good. I would suggest to eat out and give both these a skip as they are absolutely not worth the taste and of course price. This was our only bad experience of food in whole trip.

We ordered Afghan cookie, banana milkshake, truffle pastry and masala Dosa. Masala Dosa was very nice. Afghan cookie and pastry were dry! Banana milkshake was very thick but delicious. It's slightly on the higher end as compared to other cafes in Dharamshala. The vibe at the place is nice and its surrounded by greenery.
