We were at this restaurant earlier today for dinner and were craving traditional Indian food. We read some reviews and headed down to this restaurant not expecting much of Indian food in Switzerland but wow, we were surprised! The food was really good and so authentic! Couldn't imagine relishing these dishes in Switzerland! The prices are a bit on the higher side, as all of Zurich but the food was worth it! Big kudos... View all feedback.
What Silvio Wirz doesn't like about Masala:
Visited for dinner. we were served by a person named Avi who was showing lot of attitude for the reasons best known to him. Quite arrogant. Specially with Indian customers. The behaviour was as though he is obliging by serving the customers. The other new person, who had joined there about 3 months earlier was very polite and nice. Although the restaurant was literally empty ( only one more table occupied )We were tol... View all feedback.
Pathetic service , I waited for more than an hour after ordering the food .
We went to Restaursnt Masala for dinner yesterday and ordered Chicken.Ticka Masala, Eggplant Curry and Garlic Naan. We couldn't eat both dishes! Both dishes were totally over salted! The chicken tika masala sauce wasn't good either. When we returned both dishes, they promised to cook us new dishes. When they came back a short time later, they asked us to try the dishes. But since we noticed that they were bringing us the same dishes again (and not bringing new dishes as promised), we rejected the dishes. Then they told us they would bring new dishes again. But we had had enough and just wanted to leave the restaurant. The waiter and boss apologized to us and we only had to pay for the drinks. We have been eating Indian food for years and I also cook Indian food myself. We felt like we were being fooled and were very disappointed! Unfortunately the worst Indian food we have eaten in a long time. Not recommended.
We were there for the first time yesterday and were very disappointed. We had registered to celebrate a birthday. First we were given a loveless table right at the entrance. (Although it still had plenty of seats). The vegan no chicken tikka tasted like nothing. No real spices and boring. My husband's chicken tikka masala was bland. The starter had a piece of plastic from the ready-made salad packaging in it! An approximately 2x10 cm piece! We told the waitress when we were clearing up. She just said: OK. The garlic naan barely had any garlic flavor. It had nothing to do with Indian food. (Since I lived in India for years, I can compare well) But the big disappointment was that they had forgotten my birthday. The lady at the next table received a piece of kitchen with a candle and a happy birthday song. They had completely ignored me. Although we signed up specifically for this. All in all a big disappointment. Costs a lot and offers neither good food nor good service. Really a shame. I was very sad.
Wonderful food even for people who like to eat meat. There should be more restaurants like this. Good portions... Lassi is super tasty and chai tea too... No Chicken Tandori was divine.
Vegetarian Indian restaurant. A secret tip for Zurich.
