Having had an excellent meal here a few days ago we decided to return for our final evening in Beziers. Unfortunately there was a large party being held at the same time involving far too much noise. We couldn't hear ourselves talk. The service was not nearly as good as last time. The restaurant shouldn't have been open for other guests while the party was happening. We gave up and didn't finish our meal. The staff understood why and didn't charge the full amount. So disappointing though.
Lovely three course set lunch menu for €19 each with €3 glasses of wine. Great food and service.
Service was polite, but too slow. The quality of the bavette was not very good. No soap in any toilet. i could take soap from the kitchen... beer was over due. sad...
We were planning on a light lunch, but the menu intrigued us and it turned into a big, decadent meal! Everyone ordered the Epaule de Porcelet confite (pork shoulder). It was flavorful, moist, and a huge portion. The bread and the wine were wonderful too. The service and atmosphere were also great. This was one of our most memorable meals of the trip. The restaurant is located in a covered market area. We didn't have time to walk around and look, but hope to visit again.
A lovely restaurant with a Spanish flare, a little difficult to find on the back side of the covered market, Les Halle's. The plats were excellent, probably the best Canard Margret (duck breast) that I have ever eaten. It was full of flavor and very tender and accompanied by a red wine and cherry reduction sauce. The steak with morrel mushrooms was absolutely wonderful, melt in your mouth tender. They also had a very tasty monkfish that we tried. The wine list was extensive and we were able to sample a full bodied red from Le Clape.
