This looks like a cake shop but there are 4 or 5 tables by the counter and I believe more upstairs. People come in and out for cake, coffee, lunch sandwiches but there is also a hot menu and the food we chose was excellent. Staff are very attentive and professional and service was quick but the food was obviously freshly cooked (the chips are amazing). Prices are very reasonable. Park in public car park across the ro... What GarryW36 doesn't like about Hamers:
went there with my wife, for a nice afternoon lunch, was seated upstairs which is very clean and tidy, was seen to as soon as we sat down, drinks order was taken and arrived within 5 minutes of the order being taken, them the mains order was taken, and that arrived with 15 minutes of it being taken. This restaurant is a hidden gem with a surprising interior. We were promptly seated and enjoyed table service with a diverse menu that arrived quickly. The atmosphere was warm and family-friendly, with a lot of options to choose from. Our drinks were served promptly and our attentive waiter made sure our food choices were just right. The dishes were delicious, well-presented, and served hot. Additionally, the prices were very reasonable for the quality of the food and experience.
Hidden Gem! I have lived in Bexley for more than 10 years and until yesterday never noticed this place. It's not just a deli. We went into their courtyard for lunch. it's cool, it's comfortable, the staff are incredibly friendly and attentive, the food is just fantastic and it's reasonably priced. What more could you ask for?
The cuisine at this restaurant is very nice. The German lady named Claudia who runs it is great. However, some of the staff seem a bit cliquey and stuffy. I used to push my elderly mother's wheelchair into the restaurant, but some of our neighbors who were already inside would be informed that we were coming and quickly make an exit through another door. Despite this, when they felt like it, they would come back inside and spend hours watching TV, having lunch cooked for them, getting their grass cut, etc. Such is life.

I would happily visit again.
A great place to eat in Bexley we have visited twice in recent weeks. Back tomorrow night with friends. Excellent steaks and high quality wine. Eton mess for desert was perfect. Good value with really nice people to serve you. My wife is coeliac (allergic to gluten) and there were plenty of options
