Sushi Time 560

Sushi Time 560
4.1 / 5 (3673 reviews)

Description

This strip-mall all-you-can-eat sushi spot offers fresh, well-executed rolls and hot dishes — think tuna/salmon avocado, filet mignon roll, hibachi fried rice and standout short ribs — in a clean, spacious setting. Value is better on weekdays; weekend pricing feels steep. Service is uneven and sometimes slow, orders can be missed, and takeout policies are unclear, but the chefs and menu items win repeat customers looking for casual group dining or a generous sushi selection.

After reading many of the ratings I had to go in the middle. We went in with a party of 8. The food was actually good. Limited menu options as far as specialty rolls compared to the other all you can eat sushi restaurants in the Long Island area. The service was horrible. The one waiter acted and looked like he didn't even want to be there. We had to continuously ask for food and beverages. Compliments to the chefs. We really love this place. For anyone who loves sushi and sashimi, this is a great spot to enjoy fresh fishes. We came on Monday for all you can eat dinner, and the squid, salmon , red clam and red snapper were so fresh. We wanna review this place nicely so they can keep operating in this freshness and high quality style . We don't order a lot each round because we prefer not to waste food or fill up too quickly. Unless there’s a time limit, we like to take our time and enjoy each other’s company. Each of our rounds included 4 to 5 items, split between two people. While we noticed the portion sizes have decreased over the years, we didn’t mind too much as we believed we could simply order more if we wanted to. After a small third round of sashimi that included just 3 individual pieces and one appetizer, the waitress didn’t provide us with another sushi order sheet and only left us the dessert menu. She repeatedly asked us 3 to 4 times in a span of 10 minutes if we wanted dessert while we were still waiting for our food, all the while standing very close to us as we tried to talk. It felt like she was deliberately delaying our third round, which arrived nearly 10 minutes later, well after we had politely told her we were still deciding. There were only three small tables occupied at the restaurant, so this was a noticeable difference compared to how quickly our earlier rounds had come out. It seems they are hesitant to let customers order more than two rounds, regardless of how much is ordered. I understand this approach if we were wasting food or overindulging, but we were there for just over an hour and left feeling hungry. The quality of the food is fine, but the service needs improvement, and it appears the business might be struggling. We’ve dined here 3 to 4 times in the past, and everything was much better, but our experience today made it hard to justify spending $75 (including drinks, meal, and tip) for mediocre all-you-can-eat sushi. Unless they revert to their previous prices of $23.95 or $25.95 per person, over $30 each feels excessive. I left feeling regretful, wishing we had gone to one of our other favorite spots on the island instead. You could try harder to order more food, but unless you want to spend your entire day off waiting for it at Sushi Time 560, I recommend avoiding this place unless you’re looking for just a light lunch. Save your money, find a local happy hour, and order a bunch of appetizers for a much better experience. Overall, it was a letdown.
