What NS PF doesn't like about Chercher Ethiopian Cuisine:
Have been regular customers at the Bethesda location for past several years. Our recent visit on 8/30 was a bad one. Injera was extremely sour. The dishes were not tasty. Everything tasted the same. Tried the vegan platter (my usual) and it was very underwhelming. The meat dishes also were mediocre. Spent $170 for a party of 5 and came out very disappointed. View all feedback.
The meal was delicious, exotic, colorful and flavorful. Although it was my first introduction to Ethiopian cuisine, I felt that this experience represented the country and its diversity well. The ambience was nice, cozy and clean and the service was friendly. They guided us well in our menu choices, again not being familiar with the cuisine. I also appreciated the more casual, family dinner like setting. Only improvement was there was no barperson present at the time, to help choose beverages. I had to go to the bar myself and make a choice.
Server was helpful explaining the menu. Food sampler with 10 options was great for three people. The service was a bit slow. The food very flavorful and the bread was tangy and unique. Great first experience. I think the only downside was waiting for water refills and the check for quite some time even though the restaurant was almost empty

Chercher Ethiopian Cuisine is more than just a restaurant; it’s a journey into the heart of Ethiopia, one that leaves you not just satisfied but deeply fulfilled. If you’re looking for an authentic Ethiopian dining experience, Chercher should be at the top of your list.
