I have been to Bethesda Blues many many times for so many events : live concerts, comedy shows and more. I enjoy myself every time. I love the options of artists they showcase. The tickets are reasonably priced. Now post Covid they changed management or food vendor their food prices has increased ALOT! I do think that is ridiculous. You could eat before you arrive, but you still have to purchase something like drinks... View all feedback.
What Mishawn Barnes doesn't like about Bethesda Blues And Jazz Supper Club:
I had a good time. The show started on time. Do not be late. I was 3 minutes late and the show had started. The mics were too low for most of the performance and you can hear the people in the lobby, which was very disruptive. We had to do lots of shhhhhhushing to quiet people down. Google won't allow me to post my full comment about how horrible the experience my friends and I had at this place. But, from the spot opening 40 mins late while people are sweating in the sweltering humidity and pouring down rain, from the rude lead security barking at patrons entering the club to droves of issues with the drinks and significantly dreadful and severely over priced food. The experience was almost completely horrendous. There was no a/c blowing while we were
This is a great venue for enjoying performances and spending a fun evening with friends and family. The tables on the main floor are quite close together, so it's best to arrive early to avoid navigating through a crowd. The food and drinks are quite good, and the prices are reasonable. In the back, there is stadium-style seating with about eight rows of chairs. If you're sitting in the back, you can order drinks and food from the bar area and bring them back to your seat.
Parking can be a bit challenging, especially for those unfamiliar with the area. The location in Bethesda is quite nice. I appreciate the intimate atmosphere; every seat in the venue offers a good view. The front tables might even give you a prime spot for the show. I attended the DC black Broadway production of Grease, as my nephew is part of the cast, and there were about ten of us in our group. We didn't order any food since we had planned to dine at a nearby restaurant afterwards. In hindsight, I’m glad we did, as the food was served in plastic containers.
The venue was nice, however sitting in seats off the floor, at a cost of $75.00; I thought it was inappropriate that we couldn't be served. In order for us mature adults to have to climb stairs and then desend from the Gallery to purchase food and drinks, I was astounded. I drove from Delaware to DC in order to observe the show, I will reconsider in the future.
