I just love this welcoming and colourful bar, which is actually installed in a historic ‘ El Pazo de Lanzós ‘ (Pazo is a traditional Galician manor house): Lanz... read more I just love this welcoming and colourful bar, which is actually installed in a historic ‘ El Pazo de Lanzós ‘ (Pazo is a traditional Galician manor house): Lanzos, is located in the historic center of Betanzos, right in the front of the Iglesia de Santiago, an iconic XVI century church with two steeples backing the Pazo de Bendaña and Torre do Reloxo (clock tower), next to the Casa do Concello Square (the old city hall, at the very height the Betanzos old town hill). It’s my preferred stop in Betanzos at any time of the day: Wholesome Galician breakfasts, daily made organic cakes, and a range of coffees and teas throughout the morning; A large variety of local and Spanish drinks suitable for all hours of the day; A great night bar with a range of craft beers, wines, cocktails, juices and soft drinks which blend to perfection with regular live concerts on Friday and Saturday nights. Mr. Adolfo and his magnificent team put great effort into making his guests feel at home, which is especially valued after a long day either walking the Camino de Santiago, or simply visiting Betanzos and Galicia. Lanzos workforce are true Betanzos locals, and are always happy to assist visitors to make the most out of their time there. It is great place to mingle with the locals and get unbiased 1st hand information (e.g. where to eat great food at local prices). I particularly love chilling out in the terrace during sunset, tasting their perfect selection Galician wines including white Albariño and red Mencia, whilst absorbing the energy that can be felt, as Lanzos is located at the highest spot of Betanzos, right next to the church’s beautiful courtyard. Lanzos also showcases artwork especially paintings by regional artists. WiFi is fast and reliable. Toilets are always clean. Sofas are so comfortable. These are just some of the reasons why Lanzos is one of my undisputed choices when in Galicia.
