Casa Antonio is an excellent restaurant in the heart of Betancuria. The building is over 40 years old and as such the interior is quite quaint. It is situated opposite the children’s and senior citizens playground and as such is ideal for a family with children who want a quick coffee but the kids get a little restless. Casa Antonio caters for both traditional food as well as typical english tourist food. Obviously try the Canarian Tapas. In particular Papas Arugada con Mojo (Canarian Potatoes with Green or Red pepper sauce)
I live about a 30 minute drive from here and took some friends for a day out. They had a look around the church and we decided on a coffee and some tapas. It was 11.45am, but we were told that food isn 't available yet, so we had to settle for 1 coffee, 1 tea and 1 diet coke. The terrace and restaurant are very pretty and olde worldy , we were surprised that the place was virtually deserted even though it was really busy outside. The staff were friendly. The toilets are AMAZING and worth a visit. We then came to pay the bill......WOW....9.50 euros for the 3 drinks! Even though I speak Spanish and questioned the price, that was it! I would normally pay about 3.50 4.00 euros for that even in the tourist areas of Corralejo. Sad really as they have a beautiful spot and restaurant, just felt ripped off. I think it must be new owners as my wife and I used to come for Sunday lunch here about 10 years ago and it was reasonably priced and great quality!
