Guinguette De La Lecque - Bessèges

Located next to a river not far from the village of Besseges. Not to easy to find. (If you somehow end up on the other side of the river to the Restaurant be aware that the barrier to the car park is closed at 2100). Fabulous location looking out over the river. Small and simple menu (with a couple of Fish/Meat suggestions of the day) The menu for 23€ effectively includes 4 courses as you get a salad/pate dish as a welcome. We then opted for the Steak with Rocquefort Sauce as the main dish. This not 'Haute Cuisine ', so you can recognise most of the dishes on the menu and its very good value. House wine is 8€ per litre. Great staff and service. We will be back (but make sure you are hungry), but be aware it closes down first week of September, presumably because of the dangers of its river side location. After I heard about that guinguette for a long time, I decided to leave. I loved the frame, and the menus offered. I've had a good time, but think about booking.

Very pleasant place facing the river. Reservation required as it is very busy. The food is good there.

I haven't eaten, but I'm often going for long walks with my dogs.
