We ate in the evening during a stay in bessans. the place is beautiful and the service was friendly, without English menu they had to translate and explain and... read more We ate in the evening during a stay in bessans. the place is beautiful and the service was friendly, without English menu they had to translate and explain and did it with much geduld. it serves dishes of local regional cuisine that. a quantity of cheese and pork fat (lardon) used with very dominant taste. eating is tasty, but heavy and the portion is huge, so either come with a very big appetit or share a dish.

The menu is extensive with not only great French dishes and Italian dishes generally but great local dishes too and portions are generous. Word of warning the...large portions of pasta are large like a platter! All the dishes are fresh and delicious. My veggie friend enjoyed is fare and I enjoyed my steak and our other friend enjoyed his platter of fresh pasta large enough for a family of 5. The next time I had a lovely crepe but the fondue at the other table looked wonderful too.
