Le Caquelon - Besançon

Dropped in here because it looked real cute. The waitress was nice and did her best. The atmosphere is nice, romantic, but quite 'damped'... The problem was the food: we ordered one of the cheese fondues, a classic one, which was very mediocre at best... Well no, it was very poor actually. I've had my share of cheese fondues throughout the years, but this one was just very poor...

Had a lovely meal with wine and a lovely fresh trout, fries and salad. the waiter was very patient with us as we have little French. but highly recommend this venue.

The French specialty restaurant is composed in the intimate atmosphere and a rustic brin. The service is fast and efficient, the card will offer you a multitude of cheese fondues or meats, there is for all tastes. Everything was generally very good even if the dishes offered are difficult to stand out from the multitude of other similar establishments. In the aperitif we will find the traditional macvin but for me I recommend the regional trombonix ambere beer. Chavignol's crotin salad was a copious but had some seasoning. Burgundian fondue and potato accompaniment in the papillote and rice were very good. I also recommend fondue with a really succulent beer. The wine list is limited but there is an excellent Tissot savagnin that will be very well with fondues. Prices are correct compared to the proposed presets. I recommend

It was a good time. We took the fondue of Franche County to €21 per person with meat (cooked jib, raw ham, smoked sausage). A very caloric pleasure, but we have fun. White wine with glass is not the most beautiful but in the evening anyway.

Hot atmosphere, very well received. For one I love on Facebook a sparkling drink offered, Thanks We took a fondue in the county for 2 ... A real pleasure, if I have to come back to Besançon I will go to Caquelon to eat there!!!
