I absolutely loved the burger and fries. However, I didn't care for the special spice on the fries since it's not vegan. The staff was incredibly friendly, and the kitchen appeared very clean. They also offer a selection of alcoholic beverages. View all feedback.
What Chris T doesn't like about Nice Buns By Yomg:
The American Fries are fantastic, but the rest of the meal is just okay. The Southern Chicken is somewhat dry, and to be honest, there are better burgers available elsewhere. However, they do excel at making fries. Overall, it's a bit pricey for what you receive. View all feedback.
It appears that the burger craze has become so overwhelming that to stay competitive, burger restaurants are constantly serving oversized, over-the-top menu items that often look better than they taste. However, this is where Nice Buns by YOMG distinguishes itself from the rest. Nice Buns is a refreshing change, and on a scorching 38-degree day like today, it was exactly the escape I needed. Walking through their stunning wooden doors felt like entering a burger paradise. The almost magical lighting, complemented by lush greenery and modern furnishings, instantly made me feel relaxed and at ease. I was pleasantly surprised by how different Nice Buns was from the usual fast-paced, grab-your-burger-and-go kind of places typical in this scene. After carefully reviewing the menu, I decided on the Bang, Bang, Bang burger (a special), the Philly Cheese Steak, and a side of loaded cheese fries. Oh, and I grabbed a Ribena-flavored slushie to cool off. The burger was fantastic. The patty was grilled in the quintessential smash burger style — thin, crispy, but not burnt. The combination of onion rings, bacon, and American cheese paid delicious tribute to the American-style burgers that Melbourne loves. It definitely satisfied all my burger cravings. The Philly Cheese Steak was pretty impressive. It was just what I envisioned a street vendor's creation would be like in 1950s Philadelphia. It came heaped with cheese over a generous portion of thinly sliced beef, perfect for anyone looking for a cheap, hearty meal. A knife and fork are essential here! The loaded fries were cooked to perfection and seasoned with a fantastic salt mix. With cheese and spring onions added, they made for a fantastic side without being overdone. And what’s a burger experience without dessert? Just a few steps away, I found the Nice Buns frozen yogurt station, where I loaded my cup with Black Vanilla and Salted Caramel yogurt, topped with crushed Oreos and plain biscuits. It was pure indulgence all the way home. In summary, I found the entire meal—burger, Philly steak, and fries—for a total of $39 to be well worth it. I had an amazing meal featuring the "Razorback" special, "Honey Badger," chili beef loaded fries, the Texan outlaw burger, and a PB Nutella cheesecake shake! Everything was cooked to perfection and served quickly. The staff were incredibly friendly as well. This place is definitely one of my favorite local burger spots!
Nice Buns is definitely a great restaurant to visit. The burgers and fries are delicious. The atmosphere is bright, and the service is impressive, especially considering how busy it tends to be. I can't wait to return!
Loved my visit to Nice Buns! Vibrant atmosphere and fantastic service, the server put a lot of effort into looking for the best table to place us when it was getting busy. Also loved the fact that you can order off your phone and have it delivered to your table! The menu is so inspired! I particularly loved the lasagna bites! I ordered the Mac Yeezus which replaced the bun for a Mac and cheese fritters, and it was delicious but very heavy, so don't order unless you can handle a tonne of cheese. There was also a burger, the shooey, which came with fries inside! Fries were crunchy and well flavoured, though a little too salty.
I like nice buns and I cannot lie. From one of the originals in Glen Waverley... Who would have thought a froyo joint could dish up such food. This outpost in Berwick feels like it's really trying to put the meaty and fried stuff well ahead of the healthier stuff and the venue really helps with that. Most definitely feels more of a burger restaurant, bright, airy interior and nice alfresco area, including a small enclosed statement making purple playground for the little ones that as a concept competes very well against some of the neighbouring established fast food chains. The classic YOMG menu is there, with a few variations. There's even a slushy station behind the bar with a nostalgic ribena flavoured icy treat. Worth the trip down the Monash for this.
