Cricket's - Berwick
Cricket's
Description
Cricket's is a compact neighborhood bar known for cold beers, standout tacos and a concise menu—ideal for pool, darts, karaoke and low-key nights out. Patrons' experiences vary: many praise friendly, patient bartenders and tasty drinks when ingredients are available, while others report rude or aggressive staff, missed orders, small overpriced mixed drinks and DJ behavior that can feel self-promotional. Expect a casual, local atmosphere; consider recent service reports before planning a big group or special night.

Absolutely awful experience. I would give it zero stars if that were an option. The bartender had a miserable attitude during the entire 10 minutes we were there. We ordered two Long Island Iced Teas, but after waiting several minutes, she told us they were out of lemons and our drinks would be delayed until someone fetched more. We explained that we couldn't wait and decided to take our business elsewhere. In response, she began to pressure me for payment for the liquor she had already "poured" into the Long Islands we never received due to her lack of ingredients. This was the worst experience I've ever had. I will definitely not be returning. The atmosphere was dreadful, the staff was unprofessional, the attitude was unacceptable, and the prices were ridiculous.
The DJ seemed more focused on promoting his own music than on the customers. I’m a DJ myself, and I believe customers should come first. When we tried to request a song, it felt like the DJ was prioritizing certain people over others. After we settled at a table and were planning to sing, my cousin went to the bar to ask for water, as it's the best drink for singing. Instead of being understanding, Cathy looked down on him—he is mentally challenged—and told him that ordering water was considered loitering. So he went back and ordered three sodas, which were small and watered down. Then Cathy made a really unfair assumption, looking at my cousin and saying, “I thought you didn’t have money.” This was particularly frustrating because we actually did have money—if we didn’t, we wouldn’t be driving an Escalade. If you’re looking for good service, decent drink sizes, a clean environment, and a friendly atmosphere with great entertainment, I recommend going to Papa Lou’s or Hogs Hollow. It is completely unacceptable for Cathy to speak to her customers that way, especially to someone with a disability. Discrimination like this is not okay—great job, Cathy!
Kathy the owner is a miserable old bat who treats her customers with no respect. Went in to crickets for the first time for karaoke and definitely won’t be back. Drinks are extremely small and prices are outrageous. Witnessed Kathy be very aggressive to several people at the bar last night. If you have any sense avoid this business at all costs.
