I was initially hesitant about the entrance fee, especially since you have to pay for what you pick, but within 30 seconds of meeting the lovely blonde woman working there, it was worth it twice over! She was absolutely hilarious. The petting zoo was fantastic, I especially loved the goats. What Melvin Braun dislikes about Dempsey's Corner:
An outdated place in need of a facelift. All of the activity areas were old and in disrepair. The mini golf, sound garden and play yard were sad. Very little of any produce around. Vegetables were not found, no fruits on the trees and underripe apples. No clear markings and signage in the apple orchard made for complete confusion. We go here every year. Always happy to visit. They have the best u-pic around. Absolutely wonderful products. Awesome family destination.

Dempsey's corner orchards is without a doubt one of the best places to visit if you like the idea of picking your own produce. The price to enter is super reasonable and the people there are super friendly. The orchard itself is quite a...size and so they have wheeled carts to take around. The ground is not always even so if you also want to put small children in the wagon be sure to have an old blanket for padding as the carts are metal. There are activities for the kids too. The variety of apples is impressive and I don't think the dollars actually covers what we ate but the price at checkout for the apples we got, essentially all we could lift was under including a lot of honeycrisp apples. This is one of those places you will remember fondly for a very long time. It is a bit of a drive from halifax but so worth it.
