Monterey Fine Foods - BERNARDSVILLE

Just not what it used to be, both the whimsy and quality of the old Monterey Gourmet is no longer. Did we have a decent lunch? Sure. But it definitely wasn't anything special. We ordered ahead, not realizing the store was literally empty when we arrived. Despite it being slow, our order was still incorrect. The egg salad was blah, the Sloppy Joe was not a true Sloppy Joe (not a double decker sandwich), the potato salad didn't taste like much of anything and I was unimpressed by the portion sizes. Again, the food was fine but nothing to write home about. I was surprised by the total sparseness of the place. The prepared food in the deli cases looked pretty good, but there wasn't a whole lot of it. Long story short, I wouldn't be disappointed to eat here again but I wouldn't go out of my way to make it happen either.

My office orders from Monterey Fine Foods all the time. They have a great selection and everybody in my office loves their food. I would definitely recommend them for all your take out and catering needs. Andres and Steve are great to work with while placing your orders.

Great pre made foods. Decent liquor selection . Along with drinks. If you are in a hurry or do not have time to cook a meal . This is the place to go . Very . Nice and helpful . The fillet mignon is great

It’s been years since I last had a Roast Beef Sloppy Joe from the Monterey Fine Foods Deli. Today on the way home I remembered to stop by and order a sloppy to share with my wife for lunch. The rye bread was fresh as was the rare roast beef which made for a great tasting sandwich. Next time I won’t wait so long before coming back.
