Very tasty Asian buffet. High class Perfect service! The food is fresh prepared and bery authentic. We will be back again! Thank you!!!!
The Kursaal Bern is a slick Hotel, Convention and Casino Operation. Unfortunately the Yu Asian Restaurant does not come near of being Asian. The decor is very in vogue but the Food is close to beeing very bad! The Restaurant is trying to be a little bit of everything and with two Chefs (one Caucasian and one Asian trying to be Thai, Chinese and Japanese, I think that at the end you get nothing worth talking about. Pricey for what you get! Buffet only by the way! Most probably thr best dishes is the Salad Bar and the Dessert Section. (not very asian though!
Went for dinner with a friend and had a very pleasant evening. If I had to rate the food it would be a generous 3.5 but when one takes the ambience and service into account it does deserve a full score to underline the point that it was a very nice experience with the spread on offer. The food it is not authentic Asian cuisine, naturally it is adapted to Swiss taste buds, but dishes served are fresh and the quality is good. The shrimps and duck and the dumplings were nice. Pay it a visit definitely worth a visit. The desserts are on another level. Huge offerings, special kudos to the Sake Cocktail. But be prepared it is slightly on the expensive side, but you won't feel short changed, if you have a good appetite, with the buffet on offer you will get your moneys worth.
We were so impressed with this hotel upon arrival and looking forward to dinner. As we arrived at 9:30 pm (we were informed the kitchen closed at 10:00 pm and the restaurant closed at 11:00 pm) we were told it was buffet only. Thinking it would be okay we sat down and ordered water. The buffet turned out to be scant selections that were pretty much picked over. After seeing this we decided to leave sad we’re told the water was 10 Swiss francs. We paid it and left but it left me with an extremely sour taste. I will never come back here and don’t recommend anyone else to come either. The service was technically correct but when you see disappointment in your customers don’t charge for the water. Tell them to come back the next night when there’s more options. Horrible!!!!
Loved it! Really nice. kind service, great choice of food we had the buffet which is definitely worth every cent. The soup was probably nr 1, then great selection of sushi, antipasti, mains, but most amazing the dessert buffet. We came with two kids 7 and 10 yo and it was ideal for them as well. NB: we eat a lot of asian food and i would say this was a really good experience.
