You made this American feeling at home. Yes English. Love the music. It's a techno sound... I couldn't get enough. The cappuccino are fabulous. Oh, yeah, making the laundry super easy. The soap is automatically in the washing machines!

Exit the train station, head to the right, and a couple of streets down is Schanzenstrasse. Look for the Welle 7...building WashBar is in that building on Floor 0. Worth looking for if you need to do some laundry and want to do it in a clean environment with a bit of food and/or drink.

Getting directions to this place from the Bern information center was hopeless! Nevertheless, I knew the rough direction I had to go in but asked a gentleman on the street...who happen to be walking in that direction. He was kind enough to walk me to the place. The Wash Bar is located at the new section of the Bern train station. It's about a 10 minute walk away from the actual station. This is their new extension it seems. To my surprise, it was actually a bar. I was quite happy to have a beer whilst my clothes were going for a spin. The bartender was very friendly and helpful. She was lovely. We ended up having a wonderful chat and turned out to be a good night. Who would have thought washing clothes could be this much fun lol. The price I paid for a beer and wash was 12 CHF. Not sure what the cost of the wash is without the beer. (In Oz it would cost about $12 for just a beer). Even if you don't have laundry, which other locals there didn't, it's a pretty funky venue.

So grateful to advise that this existed so necessary when you travel. Good modern machines, reasonable costs, especially if you can have a coffee or drink while...you wait, great atmosphere and additional helpful staff.
