Disappointing experience. We entered the restaurant at 7:05 p.m. (the bells of St. Peter's Church were still ringing). When we wanted to take a seat, I discovered the next room where there were also guests. We were immediately reprimanded: “The room is closed!” No “Hello” or “Grüezi” or “Welcome”…. We sat down and asked for the menu. We were told that there was only Bircher muesli and bread rolls left. When I pointed out that it was described differently on the internet, the lady simply said that there was no longer any food at that time, only the small menu. But we weren't given the small menu either, because an omelet or chicken nuggets would have at least been a warm meal instead of just bread rolls and cereal. Due to a lack of alternatives, I ordered wine and water and at the same time asked for the WiFi password. I got the rude answer: “One thing after the other...!” Apparently recording and having two drinks and giving the WiFi password at the same time leads to overwhelm. The people next to us were served food and we sat with water and wine even though the menu on the website clearly states that the kitchen is open until 7:30 p.m. When I asked again, I only got unfriendly answers. The WiFi password that was given to me after repeated requests was also incorrect. If there is no longer a kitchen at 7:05 p.m., then this should also be clearly communicated on the homepage. By the way: the cook was still in the house because he was chatting animatedly with the serving staff until we left the restaurant instead of preparing a meal for us. Never again!

You may think it strange to go to what is, ostensibly, an old people 's home to eat... but, believe me, this was the best meal we had on our holiday. We have a friend who has an apartment here, which is how we came to...eat here. Take bus no 19, from the City centre, to Elfenau and get off at Willadingweg or Lauternauweg. Good food, good wine, good service. Eat in or out on the terrace or in the 'garden '. Afterwards you can go for a walk in Elfenau Park which is also nice.
