The Food Well-prepared Italian fare. Their famed pizzas are good, but not quite outstanding. The crust is thin, bubbly and chewy, with a pleasantly tangy tomato sauce. The cheese bit is overdone on most pies, making them a touch rubbery and greasy as they cool down. The toppings are fresh, with good quality salume, salsicca and prosciutto. 2. The Staff Kind, quick and sometimes drop by for a chat. Children are also welcome here! 3. The atmosphere Another local neighbourhood hang-out. A mixed crowd of club kids, students, young working people and families. It 's a small restaurant and almost always busy, so reserve or come early! They also have some beer benches/picnic tables outside where you chill in the summer. 4. The damage Most pizzas are 5-9 euros. Pasta about 6-10. Drinks are 2-5. Decent bottles of wine can be had for under 20 euros. 5. Useful tidbits Reserve, reserve, reserve. Check their weekly menu for delectable in-season appetisers. Avoid coming by car, parking is a nightmare around there.
I 'm sorry to ruin the good flow of 5 star reviews but I just can 't seem to understand what everybody like about this place. We arrived here last night, waited a little bit and got a table in the middle of this busy restaurant, with waiters passing by back and forth. The place look like a dining room of a cheap hotel, but somehow still feels cozy. As I was hoping to actually stumble upon a proper Italian I happened to notice there are barely over 5 types of pastas in contrary to the tremendous amount of pizzas. There were also some (really pricy) specials on the boards scattered around the restaurant. So we both felt like having a pasta and boy oh boy how disappointed were we! I ordered bolognese made out of beef, super salty and no sauce, just a little olive oil you 're invited over to try my home made bolognese which is much better for sure. My partner had pesto pasta which was tastier but a bit bitter. We got a little bread to our table, but nothing to dip it in, just bread with nothing else what about a little balsamic and olive oil like a proper Italian? Also, I 'm not even sure it was even the proper 200g pasta like any other Italian restaurant, felt like a lot less. For the price we have been charged I expect a bit more quality, bet you the pasta wasn 't even home made. Service was nice and all, but I guess I can find. Will not come back.
I've wanted to eat here for quite some time and last night I finally did it... Am I happy that I did it :D I cannot wait to go back again! You can tell it is a family business. I had a brie with home-made sausage (the most tastily amazing sausage I have tried) pizza. I ate the whole thing and was only thinking about eating half when they brought it to me. I just couldn't stop myself. What'll be next I wonder? Maybe the pizza with taleggio as I love this cheese! Reservations are a must. This review was written in 2008.
