Was Esa on tour at Themroc a mag?
Great Berlin atmosphere, even though it's run by guys from Toulouse in the south west of France. You sit tightly packed, the lights are low, odd posters are taped haphazardly on the walls. A bit weird, but this is what Berlin is all about. The service is casual and really attentive and accommodating. Food and wine options are limited, meaning they only have good stuff. I'm into wine and got a taste of their selection... View all feedback.
What Kate O dislikes about Themroc:
this restaurant, presumably named after a french low-budget movie, has a concept that we have enjoyed many times in italy--namely, that there is no choice: one can order any combination of a starter, main and dessert without needing to resort to a printed menu. unfortunately the italian experience led us badly astray here. the starter was a celeriac soup with a strange aftertaste, the main an unattractive and unpalat... Friday evening, 18.30 clock. somehow we had the pleasure to experience the charm of the terrace of the themroc next to the loud torstraße; since we had good memories when we were there in 2013. how should it be different with tourist flooded shops in the middle? the waiter gives us just to understand that everything is reserved outside; well we put ourselves to a glued table in the interior and get a card rich. that has been poured over with olive oil shortly before! then a little bit of a puppy inside, which has not reserved. will be placed on the terrace first of all. there are enough other shops in the corner... is not to understand this midst to get.
It is a very special restaurant. they only have a menu consisting of first, second and dessert. eating is very good and homemade. in our case we had a very plentiful chicken salad with a hauch of minze, a very generous fish and alga main food and a chocolate mousse. it is a quiet place to go with the idea to have a good time. at the end was the bill 63 euro for 2 people. I'd rate it with 1 if the price wasn't, a little expensive for what it is. the atmosphere is great, very modern and peaceful.
First I would recommend to everyone looking after entering the local and before eating the flowing behind the theke, which is also used as a kitchen, to form a separate judgement about the cleanliness. for a bite, the offered level may still go on, but also for a third-class, you don't really want to visit. not but for a supposedly hip restaurant in which is called for the main dish 15,50 eur. in the miserable total inpressure is also accumulating, which the young cook completely unambiguously takes in the conversation with obviously well-known guests at the theke the one or the other glazing. I think it's cool. that would not be worse, you would get the impression that he would otherwise be ambitious when preparing the food, but unfortunately misdisplay. there is pressed by hand - without washing the hands in between - from a lamina of the sweetly prepared fennel salad on the teller that the gast wins the impression, he or she is in the Bundeswehrkantine. everyone can decide whether it interferes if the cutlery after the appetizer is not removed, but is placed by the not particularly attentive service on the really not so delicious resopaltic. I don't think so. but it fits in the overall picture. that emphasizes and somewhat wanted on Berlin-Mitte trimmed stammpublikum does not seem to disturb it. to eat: to roast a slice of salmon and to put on a rather inexpensive bed of kicherererbsenmuß drapiert with still whole kicherbsen, is not a great kitchen performance. because both were cold. it was neither salted nor spiced, but rather strangely cold for a main dish and not particularly appetizing. I think if there's only one main dish, you might have a little more effort and love expecting the creation and preparation. so it's just clearly below the hoped-for level. What is it when you don't like or dare fish or, in particular, salmon or are you eating vegetarian? (for vegans, this negligible form of preparation does not give any variants). then you ask the service for the alternative and get the answer, the same thing then - with cold cherry emu - but without fish. So, actually, the whole thing is funny. Why is medium-to-medium. about 10 white and red. the two desired wee were then not present. the recommended very ok. but that's why we won't come back. But a tip: if you want to try the load despite everything, it's recommended to call at least once before and get a clear confirmation. there were three couples there with which there were longer unpleasant discussions with the personal after a look into the reservation book, whether there is a reservation. to watch makes even limited fun. all in all, a maximum dilettanic guided local that should be visited neither for eating nor for the atmosphere. for good luck, there are enough alternatives.
Tasty day dishes from the swollen lamb to spaghetti carbonara. always authentic and tasty. often tried and never disappointed.
We reserved a table. when we arrived, the employees thought our name was not to be found. we would have understood if a mistake happened (it seems that the boss takes the reservation and no one of the employees knows about it) and you admit it, but from the part of the employee there was no feeling. no one apologies during the whole conversation. no matter how fine eating and how highly praised the restaurant is, if the customer service is so uncharmant, it is not a good choice to come here.

We had such a strange but such a great time at this restaurant! It's a really small place only about 12 tables or so. We'd made a reservation for a Saturday night and they'd said we had to come early (at 7pm because they had a big reservation for 8pm with a lot of people. We turned up at 7, and then were the only people in the restaurant until 9pm! Basically their big 8pm reservation never showed up, and they'd essentially kept the restaurant empty for that reservation (even turning other people away that we saw trying to come in . Usually it's packed on a Saturday night, so we felt so sorry for them they'd been screwed over by whatever party never showed up. Anyway they were super nice to us! There's no choice on the food (except you can always get a vegetarian option the kitchen is tiny (and open with only one chef, so you just eat what he's making, but it's always tasty! We had carrot soup to start, aubergine steaks with couscous for main (there was a beef stew for the meat option , and a chocolate fondant for dessert. The wine was good, and they gave us free digestifs at the end of the meal. The staff were so friendly to us and basically shared with us their woes over this failed booking and how they were now empty on a Saturday and how grateful they were to have us at least! And anyway, by the time we left at 9pm it had started to fill up anyway so we weren't leaving them alone ; . This is usually a lovely cosy restaurant candles on the table, jazz music on the stereo, lively buzz. But only go there if you're flexible and open minded you don't know what your evening may be like!
Wow, we stumbled across this place on a cold Saturday evening when we were looking for somewhere to have a drink. It was packed but we were offered seats at the bar right in front of the open kitchen. There was a real buzz about the place. Great music and great vibe. Loved it.

It's a small, cozy cute little place. If it's good weather you can sit outside as well. The decor is eclectic, with pinata's placed around, assorted posters and pictures on the walls, and strings of fairy lights! It's a great place to sit around and drink but what you should really go for is the food. Chef Diego is an artist! He's been at this kitchen for over 2 years now and every single dish he puts out is full of his love and passion. We started with a shrimp and avocado salad which was the right amount of crunchy, flavored and fresh and followed that with a beef and potato dish. The highlight for me however was the gorgeous desert, chocolate fondant, with ice cream and raspberry sauce (I ate two!! .. we ended up staying there long after our meal was over, just drinking, chatting and singing, along with their lovely staff too! If you're looking for a cozy place to have an intimate and delicious meal, then this is where you should be!
