Such a nice place right next to Kotti, you can sit and relax, very sweet alternative crowd
Best queer neighbourhood hang out in Kreuzberg! Cheap food and drinks, lovely beer garden and great staff! Patio closes around 23-00h though as to not disturb the neighbours.
We attended a birthday party at South Block with many friends and really enjoyed the delicious loaded fries. Unfortunately uncool: The birthday child received beautiful flowers, which we stored in an empty glass of water. The employee took it away from us without a word and put the flowers on the table he “needs the glass now”.

Took a group of 15-20 English-speaking fathers in Berlin here on a Friday night. The biergarten handled the advance reservation requests by email with short response times. The staff are very nice. Mostly you have to order at the bar and take your own food and drink to your table (they will give you a buzzer for when the food is ready). Food is fairly standard biergarten fare--mostly fried, the salad was very fresh and tasty. Maybe a few more options than a typical Berlin biergarten. But you're not going for the food, you're going to hang out with your friends. And it does that really well. The atmosphere is great, right in the heart of Kotti, the place is always busy especially on weekends. Good spot to start the evening and move on to music clubs later, if that is your thing. LGBTQ+ friendly. Price per person: €20–30 Food: 3 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5
Love this place. There's always so many queer people chilling here. I love the atmosphere, the food is good, the prices for drinks are not too much. I wish they had more than 2 cashiers, because its gets very crowded after 19:00 and you need to stand in a long line to get served. Also, huge plus for gender-neutral toilets. Makes me feel very safe. Price per person: €1–10 Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5

I had the Kizza which was a huge and delicious thin crust pizza with many vegetables. The vegan sour cream and pesto topping was delicious. I’d like to go back and try more of their options
In the South Block there are various vegan options. Especially the curry sausage I recommend. The vegan cakes offered are always delicious and the atmosphere in the restaurant is very pleasant.
I had a plate with vegan curry sausage, pommes and salad. Not super cheap, but very tasty and absolutely saturating.

This was my worst experience in Berlin. When we got there, there were people outside and inside, it had a chill vibe which was EXACTLY what we were looking...
Oh my Gooood. What am I doing here? When I arrived never been there b4 I was stopped by a pair of not very friendly bouncers. Do u already have a stamp?...

Ive been to Südblock couple of times, always for a Sunday brunch. There is always enough for vegans, though the labels may be tricky time to time. I got used to one salad bowl being vegan and the next time, there was not vegan label on it, so I got confused. Also, you can be sure there is always at least one vegan pudding. You can pay btwn 8,50 and 14 EUR based on your on consideration. Drinks not included. Tap water for free.
If you like restaurants with a lively atmosphere then I can recommend this place it has music in the evenings and whilst inside can get a bit loud, there is a large well lit outdoor seating area. It 's also possible to reserve a table. The menu is varied and whilst meat is served, vegan options are clearly marked (veggie options are not), and I have absolutely nothing bad to say about either the quality of the food or the portion sizes I had a huge vegan flatbread which had so many vegetables on it that they were almost falling off. And for a capital city I found the prices to be extremely good value around 5 Euros for a main course. My only criticism is that I had to wait quite a long time to be served, but as I was in a large group I can excuse this. EDIT: Visited again in Oct. 2015. The baked potatoes are great, but all the staff members present this time were very rude and I felt that my partner and I were not welcome. This is a real change from one year earlier hopefully it was just an off day. Updated from previous review on Friday September 19, 2014
Long wait for the curry sausage, but it was very good. They only take cash, which was uncomfortable for us.
