Feedback
Last time I was here was 3 years ago. Food was very good. This time the food was poor. I had a dry congealed black linguine with octopus. For €19 it needs to be top notch, this pasta was worth €5 or less. How they let a dish of this quality out of the kitchen with that price tag I don’t know. The owner really needs to have a tete a tete with the head chef or recruit a new chef to buck up the kitchen. Service has a pleasant, casual feel which I don’t mind but feels a bit like a Berlin cafe rather than restaurant. Previous reviewer was right : drinks are over-priced. Alas, based on this experience I won’t be going back and Pappa E Ciccia is off my Berlin eatery list.
Wine was expensive: we asked the waitress for advice on which wine to choose, she recommended one and turns out it was €9 for a glass. I wouldn't say the wine was €9-a-glass-good. Tagliatelli caponata were delicious. My partner's spaghetti with sea food was a bit dry but okay as well. This restaurant was recommended to us, I'll recommend it to other people as well but warn them to take a good look at the drinks menu first!
