We entered the place without knowing anything about it (like a nice imbecilable). we are not a fine-size (far away) and could not understand a word from the menu, as it was in German and was encoded for fine-size (very long descriptions). as sander (restort manager) noticed that we had no idea, he translated the entire menu and was very pleased to hear that we were randomly stumbled to the place. this was the best dinner experience we had spent in berlin (4 hours there). hospitable. do not pass by busy weeks, try it under the week for personal treatment that makes the place so great. thanks sander for a great night. .
Makrelenkarotte benedict - I'm shivering when I remember this appetizer. a makrelenfilet, a sweet black caraway bread, a sliced pitch, carrot salad, speckchips and an egg benedict (the only warm part of this supposedly warm appetizer). the brot looked wet and soaky and tasted cold, wet and soaky. How makrele and fried egg fit together is unclear (21 euro). the appetizer of the woman was avocado masala: avocado discs marinated with red prayer, falafel and hummus. the avocado tasted strictly, the hummus and the falafel were ok (17,50 euro). the main course of Tempura-Oktopus with carrots and green cabbage disappointed. the tempura coat was sleepy, the otopus tough (29 euro). the Iberico-skinning, in paprikasauce, Jerusalem artichokes, roasted lion tooth and ternmayonaise was in order (30 euro). the erdnussspätze were an unpleasant, tough sour ( 3 euro). each dish came with countless creams, sauces and pommes. in principle, any dish could be described as a piece of fish or meat, three vegetables, four sauces, five espumas and six different sweet chips. that looked interesting for the 30 seconds that the service presented and the court explained with a flashlight. the wine card was somewhat capricially divided into "old school" and "wild at heart". we were interested in the la pola blanco from galicien. the waitress did not know the wein and offered to ask the weinportier. she came back later and asked us to try the wee and see if he liked us. I could give myself such advice. the wine was good (53 euro). too much: or better, too many different ingredients on each dish, and how they all fit together to improve the taste was a puzzle. too much: the prices are too high for eating and the service (total bill for two 160 euro). too little: too little light to see the food. if the service has used a flashlight to explain the court to us why did we not get a flashlight to eat? too little: too little planning and foresight in the kitchen. more is no longer. sometimes less in more. to avoid this restaurant in future, is for us exactly the right one.
I'm sorry to have to say that, but we are a group of very pampered regular restaurant visitors. we are hard to impress. but the kitchen staff of martha’s has made it absolutely. we cannot remember that we haven't eaten so exquisite, innovative and carefully prepared food for a long time. certainly not in berlin, but also not in paris or london, where we live to two. really impressive. While such high culinary standards often have the potential to make them hungry, they do not hear so. the prices are relatiw high, but absolutely appropriate for what you get. in comparison to his counterpart in london or paris this is a bargain. the service was great and sympathetic. from the ambiente, we really liked the restaurant on this location much better, but that is a taste. fantastic new access in the berlin restaurant scene.
Weinmahleinsmenu at the gang gazpacho from the zuckermelone: acute, light sharp, great fruit aromas gang ? gang makrele on steamed rolls: saturating, gang: kalbstartar with zuckerschotensalat: not tuned to the accompanying red wine, tartar very powerful with little taste, very baked ochal
Very pleasant ambiente, very friendly service, creatiw designed, tasteful eating. a little higher price, but well suited for special occasions. only small critique point the benches are for longer sitting a bit hard. overall but very tasty and successful overall concept for a special evening
