Maredo Steakhouse Berlin Unter Den Linden

2 – 15.11.16 on the 2nd day of our Berlin tour was initially a tour in the former central investigation institution of the stasi in the highly-autic village, which led us a former häftling and reported on the conditions and interrogation methods of the GDR State Security Service. not well tolerate was also the weather, cold, rainy and very windy. very, very uncomfortable, and so our travel group was looking forward to a hopefully warm restaurant, namely the maredo among the lindens. the steakhouse maredo is conveniently located for tourists, on the prachtstraße below the linde between brandenburger tor and alexanderplatz in the Zollernhof, where the zdf-Kapitalstudio is also located. brandenburger tor, rich day and many other sights are close. the bus can not hold this time right in front of the restaurant, and so 50 people storm through the rain in the sea and through the local back to the outside. the size and height of the room give them the feeling to eat in the free. in winter the atrium is heated, air-conditioned in summer. a beautiful place to sit, eat and feel comfortable! already this large terrace with large plants at the rande of the verdigos, especially in winter, leads back here again. here in the zollhof they sit practically in the studio of the zdf modemagazin, which is sent from here, as well as as as an aspekt, berlin direkt, frontal 21 and maybritt illner. they also notice the service here that it also provides the supply of large groups of travel, as the crazy with drinks and eating and acts friendly and with beautiful sprinkler. not complaining! on the tables is already a mixed addition salad for all, but first I look around in the restaurant. the maredo im zollhof is a typical representative of this chain, relatiw simply with different tables and chairs. Unfortunately, this restaurant is not suitable for disabled and wheelchair users, as the individual table groups can be reached via a stage. from the front part even three stages lead into the rear part. the salatbuffet shows a large selection and the offer looks fresh, crisp and appetizing. I have rarely seen such a sort. I'm trying my side salad. each salat has its “own” matching sauce that tastes me, nothing is drowned, plus point! our main dish was a part of the midday offer, and also on one standing in front of the entrance: chicken breast and hipsteak with pommes frites and salat for 7,50 €. both steaks are small, but well seasoned, the chicken meat is good through, but not dry, the hipsteak to the edge actually almost medium, the pommes fries hot, not fat, but with too little salt. but it is not a series of co-training (especially men) that I could take from various expositions into the neighboring. I was no longer hungry, but the part could have been much bigger for my feelings, and since today the lunch break was a little longer, my friend and I decided to take a papin with something sweet for us in the neighboring ZDF café. for group dinner: again competent service that keeps the clear. the atrium a great place to eat and stay away from the trubel of the road. the portion per person gets a little too small, otherwise it tastes good!

Were on 01.01.23 in the maredo. the team was completely overwhelmed, which was obviously also due to the fact that it was just invented. Although I had ordered a table for 6 people before, nicjts was prepared and we had to put the tables together. for the soaking order that we have been waiting for a long time since no one had so much time for us. eating was very good. at least the chef has good work on the day. overall we were not enthusiastic about the restaurant visit.

We were very happy, especially the hot stone we liked! Unfortunately, the managing director was not able to give us a table for four people, although around us several tables were unoccupied both inside and outside for 2 hours all the time. that was really bad but eating and the service itself was fantastic! we are happy to come back and book immediately for 4 ;

In restaurant the ambiente is beautiful. we had to sit in a courtyard where chairs were built. in the bill was more billed than on the menu, which we only noticed in the following. there are better stone houses near.
