During the daytime you... read more Some months ago I started frequenting a cafe in Neukolln Berlin, a meeting place for coffee during the daytime or drinks in the evening. During the daytime you see lots of people using their laptop as there is free wifi or even reading a book. Today I arrived at a moment when there was practically nobody there. I was *bold enough* to use skype for almost 10 ', just like I would have done at any Starbucks cafe or other similar place anywhere in the world. I was asked to turn off skype immediately at a very sharp tone by the owner and while I was about to do so, the wifi was suddenly cut off by the owner. I then realized that the wifi remained turned off as a *personal punishment* against me, for about 2 more hours. When I was about to leave, the owner came and told me that I should leave his cafe immediately and never come back, because this was not an internet cafe and I caused trouble while using my laptop quietly and listening music through my headphones, and also because I did not make a big enough consumption . I had ordered a cafe and a croissant and of course did not make any further order while I was being *punished*. Interestingly, when I had arrived, I had ordered a crepe, but the owner refused to make me, because it was 16.20 and they stopped serving crepes at 16.00. As I mentioned above, at that time the cafe was empty... The truth is that the lack of hospitality and rude manners on behalf of the staff of that cafe made me limit the frequency of my visits there, and of course the value of my consumption. I found this an outrageous episode of failure in customer service at a public place which is supposed to serve everybody. Therefore I am encouraging people to simply boycott this business, which treats customers in such a rude and discriminatory way.
