Love the place, just had this time terrible experience. We enter and ask waiter to sit at only free table, he shows place we sit and order, after 5min from outside smoking his friends come in (one person that usually works there as well) and want their place back (didn 't leave anything) amd waiter doesn 't do shit to find new place. We left.

One of the last few genuine-feeling bars in the neighborhood and one of the only ones with delicious Franconian beer on tap. Cash only, usually quite busy.

For me, it feels like a very typical Berlin Kneipe in the heart of Mitte – a place you can drop by in the morning or late at night, surrounded by an interesting local crowd. I especially liked that they serve one of my favorite German beers, Tegernsee, on tap. Smoking is allowed inside.

A nicely decorated bar with a casual and relaxed vibe. We stopped in for a short afternoon break and had wine by the carafe and a beer. Both the interior is well designed and cozy, and sitting outside is also very pleasant. Prices were fair €22 for our drinks). A nice place to pause and enjoy a drink while exploring Mitte.

Come here if you like a good old (East- Berliner dress down. If you are the masochistic type you will have a great time. If you are in need of some well earned customer respect then don 't come unless you belong to the established clique here. Maybe they just don 't like ignorant on mobile fixed foreigners?

We were taken here for a drink by a friend - very relaxed and friendly service, lovely interior and superb beer.

OK. This is basically a friendly pub in Mitte that we frequent when in Berlin, but like most places, they serve good coffee & cakes too. For 3 euros, we had a huge slice of rhubarb merringue & it was superb. Good place to relax on an interesting street.

We have been going to this pub off and on for a good few years on various trips to Berlin, so on our last trip to Berlin we repayed this pub a visit and what a wonderful couple of hour's we had. We were here early evening on a Saturday and we went in and found the bar in fine spirits, we ordered a BURGHERREN PILS beer each and just sat outside in the lovely evening sunshine. We werejust chatting away when the staff came out with a teay of schnapps, two were placed on our little table and the staff said they were basically "on the house".We drank these down and they were tasty and carried on with oyr conversation and also what a nice touch, getting free drinks in here was ,even though we were tourist's and not local's.My twin brother then went in and ordered KLOSTER ANDECHS SPEZIAL HELL, a beer we both enjoy and when the staff came out there was 2 more schnapps with our order, amazing, curiosity got the better of me so i enquired why we were getting free drink's and it transpired that one of the customers in the pub was celebrating his best mate's wife just giving birth to a baby girl.People see most German people as brusk and efficient but i have never really encountered this,an act of giving free drink's is something that would happen in my home town of Liverpool for the birth of a mate's child so we were both touched and honoured to be permitted to share this moment.we reluctantly left the pub as we had other places to visit but wished every one a good evening and we were on our way.love the layout of the pub, v shaped bar, nice furnishing just the type of pub that if i lived close by would be my local.Very easy to locate, jump the ubahn down to ROSENTHALER PLATZ. U8.then walk down ROSENTHALER STRASSE and cut into AUGUST STRASSE were you will find this pub housed in an eyecatching building. Opening hour's are; Monday to Sunday, 10am till 3am. One of the best, friendliest pub's in Berlin.

Looks lovely, relaxed, however served by a lady who was clearly disinterested in making the experience enjoyable, and was critical of where people sat. Such a shame, but would definitely go across the road instead to the very pleasantly serviced place. Also rose wine very poor, and the only one on the menu. Could definitely do better on all fronts bar the ambience.

Went here for the first time after passing it by a hundred times. We went here for brunch on a Saturday around 12 and it was not crowded- more of a sleepy, slower paced crowd reading the paper and having a few cups of coffee. Outdoor seating keeps you in the warmth of the sun well into the afternoon. There is not a huge food selection, but what they have is great quality and perfectly prepared. Service was friendly and fast and prices were great! The area is a quieter section of Mitte where there are many families passing by and children playing in the park in the afternoon. This might become my secluded corner of the city to hang out in!
