I have had 2 experiences here: One in the somewhat expensive formal restaurant where the food was generally good, but uneven, and the sniffy waitress seemed to draw attention to it...the most unpleasant experience possible. The second time I ate in the beautiful, unpretentious beer garden and the experience could not have been different: the counter staff was very helpful and engaged, and the food was fantastic: most of them grilled or roasted on a wood-fired grill. Would highly recommend the veal apron if they run it as a special. Also, due to its proximity to the dog beach, there are always many dogs here with their owners. Probably for an equal number of readers who are a plus or a minus (I had a dog with me). I thought you should know.
