It's a wonderful place to have a cup of coffee, enjoy a delicious dessert or eat a savory breakfast. It's especially enjoyable during the summer when you can sit outside on the sidewalk under the trees. It's only a block off Simon-Dach Str., yet it feels like a world away from the tiresome, "hip" Friedrichshain scene. There are few of the posing hipsters here, yet the place is cool. Cafe Casero has free Wifi, and very friendly service. It's one of my personal favorites.

We used to go there a lot until they started charging a lot for extras like butter for your bread on the side of soup (shouldn't that come with it anyway? . The homemade soups are...great but little things like that are off-putting and seem a bit mean- especially when the prices weren't low to begin with.
