If your after a warm friendly place to eat, with friendly service this is the place. The food was excellent well worth a visit . We was offered free after dinner drinks, and left thinking we must go back another day . Prices were very...reasonable . View all feedback.
What Mathilde Förster doesn't like about Cafe Restaurant le Journale:
I don't understand how this place has maintained 4.5 stars on trip advisor! True, it is very cheap but there is no trace of mentioned stone oven and cheap ingredients are used. Salami pizza was not good, margarita was edible but only due to massive...layer of fatty yellow cheese. If you are on budget traveller who just want to fill hole in the stomach go for it. Otherwise better to avoid, it's nothing than disappoint... View all feedback.
It is small, cozy and welcoming. Each of our 3 dinner visits we had different menu items - from steak to pastas to pizzas and chicken entrees. Every one of them was delicious. The waiter (only one) was gracious, prompt, and also welcoming. I would recommend le Journale to anyone looking for a great meal at reasonable prices.
The food is great, I love especially their Steinoven Pizza, simply delicious.Their service is class, location is good, I can only give it a 5 star ranking. The owner is amazingly friendly, we feel so welcomed there. Because of its service it wins my praise.
We accidently stumbled across this place, we just wanted something simple but were initially put off with the traditional look of the place and a few locals at the bar but we went for it and it was so worth it. The beer was great, we sat outside in the sun with busy traffic going by but that didn't bother us at all. I popped inside and you could see the owner making all the pizza's from scratch. Simple fresh ingredients made to perfection, also you must try the fresh garlic and chili oil that they bring with the pizza. It was so good we've been talking about it ever since. We both had vegetarian pizza's so I can't comment on the meat options.
Great Italian food at good prices The pizza is lovely and the atmosphere warm and friendly. Popular with locals
Found this wee restaurant/cafe as looking for somewhere near our hotel on last night in Berlin, wish we had found sooner.Delicious thin and crispy four cheese pizza and crunchy French fries. Bill €31.50 for two pizzas, one portion French fries (large) and four beers. Located on a busy intersection, sat inside so didn't really hear traffic, service prompt and staff friendly. Five minute walk from Spittelmarkt U-bahn and near Checkpoint Charlie.
