This bar is quite hidden in the back of the hotel. they can either enter the hotel entrance and go back or take the next door. there is a side entrance that has... read more This bar is quite hidden in the back of the hotel. they can either enter the hotel entrance and go back or take the next door. there is a side entrance that has red lighting and simply says bar. in summer they close the bar area and move everything to the dach and offer summery cocktails. the roof area is approx. 1/3 of the beam size. the bar is very welcoming with an old library feeling with bookshelves, which one side of the room and artworks with sofas on the other side. the bar menu is large and offers some interesting cocktails. Unfortunately we came in the last night, they were open before moving into the dachbar, which means that many fresh ingredients were not available. there is no beer on the tap when they come here for beer. the cocktails here are a concoction of mainly alcohol with little or no juice/sodas as mixer, unless they order a gin tonikum. the drinks are quite strong, but a bit small. I think, if I have the same price as a cocktail as what I do in zürich, but in berlin, I should be blown away as amazing this drink will be. I found on the menu I wanted, honestly nothing, especially because everything was not available. I asked the bartender to make me a drink. It was okay. fyi: there is only one bartender who works here, so if it's full or they're a huge group, then don't be surprised if they have to wait one because to get their drink. all in all the bar has a beautiful ambiente and the barkeeper is competent, but for the price I would rather spend my 15 for a cocktail somewhere else.
